The Edo State Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (Edo NEWMAP), has commenced payment of compensation to about 49 persons who were affected by an erosion control project in Ogiso-Osunde community, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), yesterday marched on the streets of Jalingo, protesting against corruption. The remains of Eze Israel Kanu and his wife, Salome, both parents of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), were yesterday laid to rest in their country home at Isiama Afaraukwu, Umuahia. Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the reconstruction of 14 kilometres Ijebu-Ode-Mojoda- Epe Road with immediate effect. The Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ade Akinsanya, made this known yesterday, after the executive council meeting of the State held at the Governor’s office Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, yesterday ordered his convoy to evacuate some passengers whose vehicle broke down along Maiduguri-Damboa road in Borno State. Heavily armed men have kidnapped a Priest of the Uromi Catholic Arch Diocese, Rev Father Nicholas Oboh, in Benin, the Edo State capital.
