Etsu Nupe tasks National Assembly on constitutional roles for traditional rulers

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has called on the National Assembly to rethink its review of the constitution along the debates of restructuring, devotion of powers and the complex interplay between traditional institutions and the federal political system in Nigeria. Court strikes out suit seeking to stop MTN’s network expansion

Justice Yellin Bogoro of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on Friday, struck out a suit seeking to stop MTN Nigeria Communications Plc and ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited from constructing new Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) across Nigeria. The Incorporated Trustees of HEDA Resource Centre had commenced an action against the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management, MTN, ATC and others in suit marked FHC/L/CS/2359/2023 at the Federal High Court, Lagos claiming that ATC had proposed to build 2,500 Base Transceiver Stations for MTN’s operations, which it claimed were within ‘close proximity’ to Base Transceiver Stations belonging to IHS Towers

Lawmakers urge President Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu for peace in South-East

EFCC arrests two former bankers for stealing dead customer’s money in makurdi

Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested two former staff of Union Bank in Makurdi for allegedly stealing the sum of  N4,199,500.00 belonging to a deceased customer of the bank.   The suspects, Idah Ogoh and Agbo Okwute, were arrested last Friday in Makurdi,  Benue State, the commission disclosed.   Their arrest followed a petition against them by the bank on fraudulent debits on a deceased customer, Emmanuel  Azer Agenna’s account. NELFUND approves N35b students’ loan for 124 federal institutions
