NDLEA intercepts 230,600 Tramadol tablets, arrests 106 suspects in Kano

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano State Command, said it has intercepted 230,600 tablets of Tramadol and arrested 106 suspects in the state. Its Commander, Mr Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) on Saturday in Kano. Idris-Ahmad said, “The command between June 10 and June 13, in its operation ahead of Eid-el Kabir celebration, intercepted 230,600 Tramadol tablets along Zaria-Kano road. “The operations, mandated by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, retired Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Buba-Marwa, in curbing the menace of drug abuse in Nigeria, resulted in the arrest” He disclosed that the agency

CAS inaugurates runway lights, airfield facilities, other projects in Kaduna

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar has inaugurated runway lights, airfield facilities and other projects at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, Kaduna. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the other projects, which was inaugurated on Friday includes: Base Defence Coordination Centre and, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Workshop. Others were renovated airmen accommodation blocks and installation of an Instrument Landing System ILS) at the Kaduna Military Airfield. FRSC deploys 1,536 personnel for hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir in Kano

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Command in Kano State has deployed 1,536 personnel to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state. The State FRSC Sector Commander, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Friday in Kano. Abdullahi stated that the command would do everything to ensure the free flow of traffic at critical road junctions. He noted that five ambulances, 30 patrol vehicles, one heavy-duty towing truck, and other operational equipment had been deployed on major routes and highways to facilitate smooth operations. Abdullahi added that the deployed personnel include 1,300 regular marshals and 236 special marshals

The Wife of Abia Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti, on Friday, formally launched the first round of the 2024 maternal, newborn and child health week in the state.
