Ahmed Idris, Accountant General of the Federation,

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arrested the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, over alleged mismanagement of N80billion.
Idris was arrested on Monday in Kano and is currently being moved to Abuja.

Ahmed Idris, Accountant General of the Federation,

“Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, May 16, 2022 arrested serving Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris in connection with diversion of funds and money laundering activities to the tune of N80billion (Eighty Billion Naira) only,” a statement by the agency read.
“The Commission’s verified intelligence showed that the AGF raked off the funds through bogus consultancies and other illegal activities using proxies, family members and close associates.
“The funds were laundered through real estate investments in Kano and Abuja. Mr. Idris was arrested after failing to honour invitations by the EFCC to respond to issues connected to the fraudulent acts.”
SaharaReporters had in a series of detailed investigations exposed how Idris acquired several properties whose values ran into many billions of naira since he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the administrative head of the treasury in June 2015.

EXCLUSIVE: Accountant-General Of Federation, Ahmed Idris, Corruptly Acquires Multi-billion Naira Properties In Kano

A visit to Gezawa Commodity Market Limited and Gezawa Integrated Farms Limited owned by Idris lend credence to the allegations made by concerned citizens and some stakeholders on how and where the AGF got the money he used in acquiring the multi-billion naira firms, both in Kano through his direct family members.
The shareholdings of both firms indicate a spread of Idris family members on the official board.
Certified copies of the documents from the Corporate Affairs Commission seen by SaharaReporters showed that the shares for Gezawa Commodity Market Limited are distributed among the family members of the AGF as follows:
(1) Zainab Ahmed Idris: 35,000,000 shares
(2) Shamsiyya Ahmed Idris: 35,000,000 shares
(3) Nabila Mu’azu Abubakar: 35,000, 000 shares
(4) Zuhair Ahmad Idris: 22,500,000
(5) Hussain Ahmad Idris: 22,500,000 shares
(6) Abdulrraham Ahmed Idris: 22,500,000 shares
(7) Khadija Ahmed Idris: 18,500,000 shares
(8) Mua’zu Abubakar lll: 40,000,000 shares
(9) Mohammed Chiroma: 60,000,000 shares
(10) Alh Usman Kansila Yahaya: 60,000,000 shares
(11) Baloni Ibrahim Lawal (representing Silvermark Investment Limited) : 60,000,000 shares
(12) Abubakar Nabila Mua’zu (representing Gezawa Integrated Farms Limited) : 20,000,000 shares.
There have also been questions asked about how the AGF bought “Sokoto Hotel” in Kano with N500million cash.
SaharaReporters gathered that Idris upon acquiring the hotel, ordered its immediate demolition with the intention to build a multi-billion naira shopping mall on the property.
Despite clocking 60 years in 2020, Idris succeeded in pulling different strings in the Presidency to secure an extension of his appointment beyond the legal limit.

Group To Occupy Accountant-General Of Federation, Ahmed Idris’ Office Over Failure To Retire

SaharaReporters gathered that he engaged the services of highly placed persons including governors, senators and emirs who prevailed on President Buhari to give him the extension.
The action is however against the civil service rules, which states that a career civil servant must disengage from service either after attaining 60 years of age or having worked for 35 years, whichever comes first.
It was also against a circular from the office of the Head of Service to all agencies of the Nigerian Government which says, “For avoidance of doubt and in order to maintain discipline and integrity of the extant public service rule which prescribed 60 years of age or 35 years of service for mandatory retirement, should strictly be complied with.
“Accordingly, the following guidelines shall apply. (I) that career officers who take up tenured appointment should at the point of taking up the appointment retire from service to ensure they run their term uninterrupted.
“(II) that career officers who have not retired from service before the commencement of their tenured appointment must leave office on attainment of mandatory age/years of service for retirement and (iii) that career officers who are currently holding tenured appointment are required to retire from service with immediate effect and continue to run their term. Failure to do so would mean that they would vacate office on attaining the mandatory age or at the expiration of their term whichever comes first.”
Idris’ arrest is also coming few months after he secretly married a 16-year-old Kano State girl, identified simply as Hussain.

Family Kicks As Accountant-General, Idris Secretly Marries 16-year-old Girl As Fourth Wife

SaharaReporters had in a string of reports revealed that despite Hussain’s family kicking against the wedding, Idris who turned 61 on November 25, 2021, insisted on marrying her.
“This is our late sister’s daughter by name Hussain; she’s just sixteen, not long that she clocked sixteen years old but it’s very unfortunate that a lady called Amina was the one that linked or brought the Accountant-General to our house in order to seek her hand in marriage.
“This, she did, knowing that this is a very young girl, what does that mean? It shows the accountant general is just after that small girl to take advantage of her youthful age.
“Immediately I heard, I messaged him because when I was working with the then Head of Service, I had the opportunity of having his contact when we met over a serious matter about the country. So I messaged him on WhatsApp regarding his wedding; I sent him my picture, that of my son, my late sister and the daughter, Hussain. He replied that it’s a small world which confirmed the wedding was true,” a top family source had confided in SaharaReporters.
The family source added that the Accountant-General bribed some media organisations they contacted for help and their request to expose his atrocities was therefore turned down.
“He went as far as bribing this girl with a gold of over N200million, iPhones, buying cars for her, giving her millions of naira – all to buy her attention. He started meeting different people that he wanted to know the girl’s family; he married the girl, just like that.
“There was no investigation just because he is the Accountant General of the Federation. Why are things happening in this country like this? He even told the girl to go and look for any house of her choice in Abuja, that he is ready to purchase it for her.
“He is spending the government money and every media house we go to report him, he pays them not to air or report the story. Please help us for justice to be done. This girl is just sixteen years old,” the source had added.

E2%80%99s-alleged-killers-not-police Sokoto State Attorney-General Ought To Prosecute Deborah Samuel’s Alleged Killers, Not Police – Lawyer, Inibehe

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has said the trial of the alleged killers of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level Home Economics student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, should be handled by the Sokoto State Attorney-General if the state government was serious about the prosecution.
SaharaReporters had reported how the female student was burnt to death by her colleagues for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

On Monday, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force arraigned two suspects, Bilyaminu Aliyu and Aminu Hukunci, who had been arrested in connection with the lynching of the young lady.
The suspects were docked at a Sokoto Chief Magistrates’ Court for their alleged participation in the crime.
It was gathered that 34 lawyers were on the defence team. The accused persons also pleaded not guilty to the crime.
One of the defence lawyers identified as Zayyanu Aliyu Dinyadi took to his Facebook page to announce that the accused persons were charged with criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance, offences that could be bailed under the Nigerian law.
Dingyadi claimed to be a solicitor, advocate of the Supreme Court and human rights activist.
In a now-deleted post on his Facebook page, he wrote, “I was opportune to be among many Muslims Lawyers that appeared in Court today in Defense of two Suspects charged By the Police in connection with the last Wednesday’s Protest at SSCOE leading to the Death of Deborah Samuel (La’anatullahi Alaiha) for Blaspheming the name of our Noble Prophet (S.A.W).
“The Suspects were charged with Criminal Conspiracy and Inciting Public Disturbance which are Bailable Offenses under the Nigerian Laws.
”The matter was adjourned to the 18 May 2022(Wednesday) for ruling on their Bail Application as Prayed by the learned Lead Counsel Brr. Mustapha Abubakar Mada.”
Reacting in an interview with SaharaReporters, human rights lawyer, Effiong queried the rationale behind having the case charged at a Magistrate Court stating that only the High Court had the jurisdiction to hear such matters.
He also condemned the manner with which the police were handling the matter noting that the charges filed against the two suspects were trivial.
According to him, the Attorney General of Sokoto State should have taken over the matter and not the police.
He said, “At this time, the terms are not quite clear on the role they played in the case. Given they actually took part in killing her, they should be charged for culpable homicide.
“The term is the same with murder but that’s what they call it over there. If they took part in the commission of the offence, they should be charged and in any event, culpable homicide can only be tried at the High court; the fact that this case was taken to the Magistrate court is also questionable but then, the North has its own process, they have what is called the first information report which is basically a complaint before a formal charge is made.
“From what I’ve read, it appears the police is either not serious about the case or they are still hunting to get the culprits because this lady was murdered in the full glare of the public and there are videos of people who confessed to taking part in killing her. All of them should be tracked down and arrested and charged for culpable homicide, except that is done, except people are actually convicted for killing Deborah, justice will not be said to have been done.
“The charge that they have filed against these two suspects is very trivial and it does not underscore the seriousness of the crime. Since this is a case of culpable homicide, the Attorney-General of Sokoto should take over. If Governor Tambuwal is actually serious, he should have directed the AG, actually the Attorney-General should be the one prosecuting. I don’t understand how the police are going to prosecute culpable homicide. It is not a matter for the Magistrate court.
“I have also read that over 30 lawyers appeared for them, that is an indication that a large section of the society supported the barbarism of these suspects who killed Deborah and that is particularly troubling and that is the more reason why the state government should take up the matter because if they only stop at these two individuals with the unserious charges they filed, then they would have made nonsense of the case.”

E2%80%99s-palace Army, Police Operatives Kill Six Gunmen Who Attempted To Burn Down Imo Monarch’s Palace

File Photo

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army in a joint assault have killed six alleged members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in a gun duel in Imo State.
The suspects were reportedly killed when they attempted to burn down the palace of the Imo Chairman, Council Of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness Eze Dr E. C Okeke in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state.

File Photo

The suspects had reportedly emerged in their numbers in three Hilux vehicles shooting sporadically, fiercely advancing towards the Eze’s Palace to unleash mayhem.
The police spokesperson in the state, Michael Abattam, said on receipt of the information, the Command’s Tactical Team joined by the military immediately mobilised and rushed to the palace.
“On their way, the hoodlums on sighting the combined team engaged them in a gun duel, throwing petrol bombs. The gallant team responded, positioning themselves professionally.
“In the exchange of gunfire that ensued, the hoodlums were overwhelmed due to the superior fire-power of the combined team and in the process; six of the hoodlums were neutralised while others escaped with various degrees of gunshot injuries.”
According to him, the operatives recovered one pump action gun, three blood-stained cutlasses and three Hilux Vehicles suspected to have been snatched from citizens.
He said calm had been restored in the area and the corpses of the neutralised bandits removed and deposited in the mortuary.

E2%80%98inciting-public-disturbance%E2%80%99-filed-against-suspected-killers-deborah-samuel-show Charges Of ‘Inciting Public Disturbance’ Filed Against Suspected Killers Of Deborah Samuel Show That Tambuwal-led Sokoto Government Is Complicit – Adegboruwa

Human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN, has described the charges of “criminal conspiracy and inciting of public disturbance” filed against the two suspects arrested over the killing of Deborah Samuel, as an insult to Nigerians and to the parents of the deceased.
Adegboruwa said the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, a former lawmaker, knew the law but wanted to override the life of a citizen entrusted to his care with his political ambition.

He called on Governor Tambuwal to rather resign now than go down in history as the Governor under whose watch a citizen was murdered and he could not enforce the laws of the land but rather aided and abetted its cover up.
Condemning the charges made against the suspected killers, Adegboruwa said, “The criminal charges, Criminal Conspiracy and Inciting Public Disturbance as framed by the Sokoto State Government against hardened murderers is an insult to the sensibilities of the parents of the deceased, the people of Nigeria and God who created Deborah.
“This crime took place in an enlightened environment in a higher institution, under the watch of security men, who were said to have been overpowered.
“It all started from a WhatsApp group, which has identified leaders. There are students who sent messages and threats of death on that platform. Their phone numbers are registered with NIN identification. They belong to a class in the school; so they are known individuals.
“Images of persons who openly and boastfully confessed of partaking in the murder abound, with one displaying the match stick with which the deceased was set ablaze. The government of Sokoto State has by these charges shown itself complicit in this whole drama and it is most unfortunate, for a state that is headed by a lawyer, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and who is aspiring to rule Nigeria as its president.
“It is most uncharitable of His Excellency to have condoned this baseless charge. It is better to set the suspects free rather than claim to try them. The aftermath of this gruesome murder, the watery charges filed and the consenting attitude of those concerned have depressed me more than the act itself.
“Nigeria cannot work this way at all. I’m truly saddened by this development. I expected the governor as Visitor to that school to have visited the parents of the deceased, who trusted the authorities and sent their ward to school from Niger State to Sokoto State, in furtherance of the mantra of a united Nigeria.”
According to Adegboruwa, if the impression Nigerians get with all the charges is that the state itself endorsed the murder of the deceased, “then we are sowing the seeds of discord and fragmentation.”
He advised that “The political ambition of Governor Aminu Tambuwal should not override the life of a citizen entrusted to his care but who was murdered in cold blood;” saying “It is better for His Excellency to resign now, rather than go down in history as the Governor under whose watch a citizen was murdered and the Governor could not enforce the laws of the land but rather aided and abetted its cover up.”
He insisted that “It is Governor Tambuwal who is actually on trial in this case.”
Two suspects, Bilyaminu Aliyu and Aminu Hukunci, were arraigned on Monday before the Sokoto Chief Magistrate’s court for their alleged participation in the killing of the 200-level female Christian student.
But the suspects pleaded not guilty to the crime.
The suspects were represented by a team of 34 lawyers led by the defence counsel, Prof Mansur Ibrahim.

Enugu Electricity Company Confirms 32 Vehicles Burnt By Gunmen In Anambra

File photo used to illustrate story.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has said 32 of its vehicles were destroyed by suspected arsonists who attacked its facility in Anambra State.
The gun-wielding arsonists had attacked the EEDC facility located inside the headquarters of the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

File photo used to illustrate story.

The spokesperson for the EEDC, Emeka Ezeh, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, said the incident shocked the electricity distribution company.
“In the early hours of today, Monday, May 16, at about 1:45am, the Ogidi District of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company was set ablaze by unidentified criminals leaving about 32 utility and operational vehicles all burnt, including other assets and equipment within the premises,” he said.
Ezeh said the arsonists inflicted machete cuts on a security official at the company’s office for refusing to surrender his rifle to them.
“The victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” he said.
“We thank God that no life was lost. We condemn this unjustifiable act and pray such does not reoccur,” he added.
Ezeh lamented that the incident happened at a time EEDC had made huge investments to improve on its operations to transform the socio-economic condition of the people in the area.
The EEDC spokesperson said they made unsuccessful efforts to reach the Anambra State Fire Service during the attack.
“The electricity company officials were helpless as they watched the fire destroy the entire structure and other assets. It later took the intervention of the Commissioner for Utilities, Anambra State, Julius Chukwuemeka, at about 9.05am to bring the fire service team down to the scene of the incident,” he said.
He said the company had reported the incident to the “relevant authorities” and expressed hope that an investigation would be carried out to fish out the suspects.
“There is no way a developing economy as ours can progress if we continue to record this kind of incident,” he added.
The attackers also razed a Magistrate Court building inside the council secretariat.

#JusticeForDeborah: Those Fighting Me Should Go To Sokoto To Fight People Who Killed Our Daughter – Father Mbaka

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, the Founder, Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, has instructed Christians nationwide to rise and defend their belief.
Mbaka made this known when he reacted to the death of Deborah Samuel who was killed on Thursday in Sokoto State by Muslim extremists over alleged blasphemy.

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka

He said, “They have killed this child. They accused her of insulting Mohammed and killed her.
“This is what I have been saying. Christians are facing lots of battles. Christians should not begin to fight among themselves. Inter-religious and intra religious war should stop. Inter and Intra denominational war should stop.
“I am pleading with those who are fighting against Fr Mbaka and the Adoration Ministry to go to Sokoto State and fight those who killed one of our daughters.
“Should that girl be killed? Every Christian should rise and defend our faith. The hour has come. It’s a challenge of faith. How many of them that insulted Jesus have been killed?
“Is it still one country? If Nigeria is going to be one country; let it be, but if this is what we are going to be experiencing; let everybody go home. I said it last Sunday and I am repeating it again,” Father Mbaka added.
Deborah was laid to rest on Saturday in her hometown, Tunga Magajiya, in the Rijau local government area of Niger State.

Everyone Wants To Be President, Even Kleptomaniacs, By Abdullahi D. Mohammed

As Nigeria brace for its next general elections, so are the expectations of citizens, especially given the multitude of challenges facing the nation, for a renewed hope to find an end to these crippling challenges.

Nonetheless, what stupefied many is the twist in the entire electioneering process by major political parties, especially the APC and PDP. It is equally safe to postulate that, the 2023 elections would be an election year like no other, for obvious reasons. One, President Muhammadu Buhari, of the APC, won’t be on the ballot box, meaning no bloc votes from a certain region.
Again, the unavoidable knotty issue of zoning the presidency, to the South will be at, or is at play, making the process more intriguing and suspense-filled.

Fundamentally, even before the real contest got started, we already had a peep at what to expect, given the display of financial muscles by those seeking the APC’s prized possession — the presidential TICKET. A N100 million, for a nomination form!
If such flagrant and insensitive display of war chest, for just obtaining a form, didn’t provoke a national outcry, from the citizens, then as a people, we are part of the problem. ASUU just extended their industrial action for another 3 months, meaning parents and students would bear the brunt and continue to groan, eventually.
Armed bandits as are still making life hellish for harmless citizens, across the North, while unknown gunmen and other criminal elements are decapitating people’s head in the Southeast. Hundreds die monthly on our despicable and pothole-ridden highways. Healthcare delivery centers, especially in remote and rural communities are bereft of, or lacking basic medical equipments.
Again, the number of out-of-school children in the country is ignominiously high, and still soaring. All of these never mattered to the political leaders. As usual, governance has been relegated to the back burner.

The bar of governance and politics, as it were has been lowered, in fact, to an all-time low. Even political contestations has been reduced to a circus show, where every clown, with questionable pedigree and sense of responsibility would vie to be president. The astonishing number of persons who’s indicated interest in the APC presidential ticket is a stark reminder of what is fundamentally wrong with the country’s leadership drive. While it is their prerogative, and constitutional to do so, but on moral ground, it will be reprehensible to even attempt so.
Those who do not have any business with leadership and governance in the country, are unfortunately and incongruously those we ascribe to (un)befitting terms as Honourables, Distinguished, Excellencies etc.

Reasons for all of these are not farfetch. It is quite preposterous, an individual without any verifiable source of income would appear and seek to lead people, without same people provoking a discourse centered around his personality, precedence and capabilities. Thirst for money over capacity in Nigeria’s brand of democracy has been overwhelmingly ingrained in our political space, partly because of institutionalization of deprivation of state resources by the ruling elites.
These are inherently why we are in this perilous situation, which is predicated on the question of leadership.

The PDP, though had inexplicably set the cost of its nomination form at a “modest” N40 million, even so, for a nation begging for infrastructure, end to soaring prices of commodities, quality education, improved security and host of other challenges which is insanely an existential threat, the price tag is high, when compared to other countries in Africa. To say the least, they are part of the problem. We must note here that, whoever parts with such mind boggling amount to pick just a nomination form, would certainly have a template for recouping what he’d spent. As it were, politics is the most lucrative business, with a high rate of return of investment, at least, in Nigeria. APC and PDP are same side of a coin. After all, they take pride in political prostitution, in the name of defection. Nonetheless, it seems, they’ve found a new “BRIDE”, the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.

Political parties globally are the engine room for development. Their ideologies are masterfully crafted in tandem with realities, visible challenges and a timeframe for achieving such set goals, or campaign pledges. They most often don’t deviate from the near-sacredness of such ideologies.
In the UK, for instance, there are lifelong members of Conservatives and Labour Party. As such, party manifestos and membership are driven ostensibly by ideologies, nationalism and patriotism.

In Nigeria, contestations are often premised and predicated upon regional, rather than national outlook hence the agitation for zoning the presidency to a particular region.
Proponents of zoning argued, it enhanced cohesion, integration and unity. But, the overall zoning arrangement, oftentimes negates the very principle of democracy. Some are glaringly disenfranchised in the process. Some political parties aren’t too sincere, and, the process is usually not translucent, to allow for the justice and fairness it was supposed to address. Again, competency is traded with myopia.

Every Nigerian, regardless of his faith, background, region and political leaning should be allowed the freedom to participate in electoral process( to vote and be voted for) without necessarily harping on zoning. It is within the purview of his constitutional right.
What is then necessary is bringing forth competent and charismatic individuals to seek the presidency from any region. Such an individual should traverse the country, to seek and engage with electorates from other region. That is the core principle of democracy. And it would create the needed cohesion and inclusiveness.

The mind game, APC and PDP are entangled with, regarding where to zone their presidency is needless, and only breeds contempt, and further polarize the nation along same lines they seek to avoid.

The desperation within which they go about the whole thing took a twist, when they seek an extension of dateline set by INEC for submission of names of candidates. It means the continued back and forth by these parties would further hamper governance, because, at the moment, everything (governance) has momentarily stop receiving full attention.

The political actors should get over this deliberate political gaslighting, and return to its statutory role of governance, and confront the myriad challenges staring at them. The about 9 months before the general elections should be used to salvage whatever they could, at least to put a smile on the faces of citizens, before another round of elections which would usher in another four years of uncertainties, unless we took a decisive step, to correct any perceived wrong. That we can do, at the ballot box.

E2%80%93-wife-lagos-sound-engineer Nigerian Police Must Ensure Justice For My Husband, Lynched By Mob – Wife Of Lagos Sound Engineer

Grace Bolu, the widow of Sunday-David Umoh, the 37-year-old sound engineer who was lynched and burnt by irate motorcycle operators, has urged the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, to fish out his killers.
Late Sunday-David Umoh, a member of Legacy 360 band, was lynched and set ablaze where he had gone to play live music with his band at Beer Bar, Admiralty Way, Lekki, on Thursday.

Sunday-David Umoh died while attempting to mediate between his colleagues: Phillip Balogun, Frank and a bike rider over a N100 dispute which snowballed into a mob attack.
Phillip Balogun and Frank are still lying unconscious in the hospital.
According to Vanguard, the 36-year-old widow and mother of two, Grace Bolu who works at Ijede LCDA, as a senior technical officer mechanical, and infrastructure department, said she was yet to believe that her husband was gone.
“My husband was not part of those that boarded the bike. Two musicians were the ones who board the commercial bike. One of them plays for Phyno while the other plays for Dbanj.
“They boarded the bike, and agreed to pay N400; on getting to their destination at Beer Bar along Admiralty Way Lekki, they gave the bike N500 to collect N100. The bike man said he didn’t have N100 and they got into an argument.
“When the argument degenerated into a fight, someone ran inside the bar and called for help, my husband was part of the people that went down to intervene and stop the fight. It was when he tried to intervene that they were shouting that they were yahoo guys, ritualists.
“When they realised that the motorcycle operators were more than them; they ran back to the bar, unfortunately, the manager of the bar pushed them out, because he did not know the guys who boarded the bike. That was how they were lynched and my husband was burnt.”
“My husband was 37-year-old when he was murdered in cold blood. I received a call on Friday 13th of May at about past 3pm. I was told that my husband was late. I had to quickly rush down to the church. I was around my dad’s Church because I could not talk, I was in shock, and I gave my dad the phone to talk to.
“My husband is from Eket in Akwa Ibom, while I am from Ogun State. We have been married for nine years; my late husband was loving; caring and he went all out for people, not just his family. For the sake of my little children, my husband deserves justice. Justice should be served, I want security for my children, I am just a civil servant,” she wept.

E2%80%99-murder-six-soldiers Unlike Army Couple’s Killing In Imo, Buhari Remains Mute Over Bandits’ Murder Of Six Soldiers In Taraba, Abduction Of Lt. Colonel

Six days after six Nigerian Army personnel from the 93 Battalion, Takum, Taraba State were killed by dare-devil bandits, President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to comment over the incident.
Gunmen had last week Tuesday ambushed a military convoy in Tati village, killing six soldiers, while a lieutenant colonel identified as Emenike S Okore (N/11717) was abducted.

Those killed were; Dauda Tata (7NA/44/4046), Yusuf Salihu (95NA/40/5031), Ndubuise Okonkwo (96NA/42/6911), Abdullahi Ibrahim (13NA/70/7901), Emmanuel Jerry (14NA/72/14051) and Sani Isa (14NA/72/15462).
A military signal obtained by SaharaReporters had said the gunmen also ambushed and attacked troops reinforcement deployed from Mararaba in Nasarawa State, but that the troops carried out anti-ambush drills to fight their way out.
However, six days after the attack, there is no reaction yet from the Presidency nor from the president, condemning the incident.
This was in contrast to when Buhari condemned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) when a retired Master Warrant Officer, M Linus and his Private officer wife, Pte Gloria Matthew were brutally murdered by terrorists in Imo State.
Their corpses had been inhumanely posted on social media platforms.
The President had in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, few days after the act said he joined fellow citizens in expressing deep sense of shock over the unfortunate incident.
Buhari, who condemned the barbarism of the perpetrators of the incident and similar acts of violence against law enforcement agents, described it as alien to all cultures and civilisations.
He directed the military authorities and other security agencies to do their utmost in apprehending the perpetrators of the barbaric acts and bring them to justice.
