Pro-Biafra Group, BnL Gives Date To Mount Roadblocks On South-East Major Roads To Support Nnamdi Kanu

Pro-Biafra group, the Biafra Nations League (BNL) has directed its fighters to mount roadblocks on major roads in the South East on April 8.

The group said it gave the order following the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu’s court proceedings coming up on the particular date.

BNL, like IPOB is seeking to break the South-East away from Nigeria to form an independent country called Biafra.

A statement issued by its leader, Princewill C Richards also directed members to block all border entrances.

A statement released by the separatist group on Wednesday said, “The leader of the Biafra Nations League, BnL, Princewill C Richards has directed its members to mount roadblocks, block border entrances in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu’s court case coming up on April 8.

“The BnL leader also called on all militias loyal to the group in the Bakassi Peninsula to ensure that any oil worker who has been defying the group’s order to shut down operations is apprehended on the said day.
“Richards said BnL will continue to threaten oil companies in the region unless they come to an agreement which must include stopping the 60% Nigeria derives from the oil in the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea; the BnL leader gave this directive today during a meeting with Ejagham supporters of the group in Ekukunela, Ikom LGA of Cross River State.

“He said arrangements are on the ground to ensure that they’re able to outsmart both Nigeria and Cameroonian security operatives to secure oil companies at maritime borders. Recall that a few weeks ago, an attempt was reportedly made to apprehend two French oil workers in Bakassi by a militant group suspected to be BnL members. The group has vowed that is not to resume hostilities in the Peninsula.”

E2%80%99s-london-mansion-while BREAKING: Masked Robber Breaks Into David And Victoria Beckham’s London Mansion While Celebrities Were Home

A masked burglar has broken into the Beckham family home in West London and made thousands of pounds’ worth of valuables.
The thief forced their way into an upstairs bedroom at the £40m mansion in Holland Park and ransacked the place while David, Victoria and 10-year-old daughter Harper relaxed downstairs completely unawares, Daily Mail reports.

The break-in was not discovered until Wednesday morning when 17-year-old Cruz returned home from a night out and stumbled upon the upturned bedroom and spotted broken glass.

David, 46, reportedly called 999 and set about searching the mansion for the burglar with Cruz, while Harper remained with Victoria, 47, and waited for the police.

A source close to the family told The Sun: ‘Sadly the Beckhams were the victims of some fairly professional thieves who have been operating in the area.

‘Fortunately the criminals only made it as far as one bedroom before they ran off.’

The family are said to have been ‘shaken up’ by the burglary, but no one was hurt.

The thief made off with thousands in designer clothes, accessories and electric goods stored in the room – but did not hang around for more.

Dirty Slap: Former Anambra First Lady, Ebele Obiano Apologises, Declares Intention To Contest As Nigerian Senator

Ebelechukwu, wife of Willie Obiano, immediate past governor of Anambra has apologised to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Ndigbo and friends of Ndigbo over her fight with Bianca Ojukwu, a former ambassador and widow of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

She also declared her intention to join the contest for the forthcoming Anambra North Senatorial District election.

Ebelechukwu and Bianca had fought after a heated exchange during the inauguration of Soludo as Anambra governor.

During the heated conversation between the duo, Bianca slapped Obiano’s wife, an incident that caused a commotion at the event.

In a letter addressed to Soludo titled ‘A Public Apology’, Mrs Obiano said, “Permit me to use this medium to humbly convey to you my sincere, heartfelt and unreserved apology for the unfortunate incident between Mrs Bianca Ojukwu and myself on Thursday, March 17, 2022, the day of your inauguration as the new Executive Governor of Anambra State in which you took over from my husband, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano.

“The incident, to say the least, was most unnecessary, unfortunate and I regret my action. It was an unintended action as violence is never in my character.

“Your Excellency, Sir, I hold your person, your ideals, the records of your great accomplishments in public service in Nigeria and beyond, as well as their concomitant colossal impacts on public policies in the highest esteem.

“Without any equivocation, your achievements as a towering intellectual of national and international repute are enduring legacies and pride for the State and Ndigbo in general.

“I will therefore never deliberately engage in any activity or action to disrespect you and your government. All those who know me can testify that before and throughout my eight years as the First Lady of State, I pursued peace, promoted philanthropic gestures which empowered many of our less privileged people. No excuse can therefore be tenable as justification for such public embarrassment, no matter the height of provocation.

“Equally, I wish to extend the same apology to all the important dignitaries, the people of Anambra State, as well as the entire Ndigbo for that unintended embarrassment at the occasion.

“I want to use this opportunity to pledge that I will wholeheartedly support and pray for the Government of His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to excel exceedingly better than the immediate past government, even as he builds on the legacy of his predecessor, my husband, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, and take our dear State to a higher level.

“I consciously chose this medium to express my apology, goodwill, support and prayers publicly to His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as a token of my full respect for him, his family and the entire Ndigbo.”

On her senatorial ambition, she said, “My interest to join the Senatorial race is in response to overwhelming pressure and calls from my people to represent them in the Senate at the National Assembly, Abuja.

“As it has been attested to by the good people of Anambra State, service to people, humanity and sharing love and putting smiles on sad faces are my priority in life, and I know that it is the will of God because the Bible says that God is Love.

“Therefore, having witnessed and been positively touched by my ever-willing disposition to care for people, empower the poor and needy, especially women and children, particularly widows, orphans and the destitute, my people decided that I should come and serve them better in a higher capacity.”

EXCLUSIVE: How Ex-Lagos Governor Tinubu Was Embarrassed, Forced To Cancel Birthday Colloquium After Buhari, Osinbajo, Others Snubbed Event

Former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, was shocked on Tuesday to realise that President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan and a host of other dignitaries snubbed his 70th birthday colloquium, SaharaReporters has learnt.
SaharaReporters further gathered that Tinubu was therefore forced to call off the event which was only attended by two South-West governors and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje while other expected dignitaries shunned the colloquium, which came only days after the much controversial APC national convention in Abuja.

Top sources familiar with the drama revealed that Tinubu used the Abuja-Kaduna train bombing only as a smokescreen to save face when he realised that the dignitaries had shunned the event and it would not get the momentum he so desired.
At the Eko Hotels in Lagos, the venue of the 13th Bola Ahmed Tinubu Colloquium with the theme, “Pivoting Nigeria Into The New Order,” Tinubu, while trying to hide his displeasure had said, “Today is supposed to be a very joyful 70th birthday of mine living on earth. I give thanks to God Almighty for being able to survive to this age. I have just been informed of a very sad incident in our country, very sad indeed, that over 60 people and many more were killed and bombed on a train between Kaduna and Abuja just last night. That is a very serious incident about the security of lives in this country and it calls for a very serious sober reflection.

EXCLUSIVE: Again, Aso Rock Cabal Asks Jonathan To Prepare For Ruling APC Presidential Ticket, Rejects Tinubu, Osinbajo

“For me to be here celebrating, dancing and enjoying myself doesn’t show enough concern for a statesman and a senior citizen of this country. This event should not be held. I have consulted with the people you see around me here and they’ve agreed with me and being a very highly committed democrat, I have given myself to their suggestion that they agree that this event be cancelled.”
However, sources told SaharaReporters that Tinubu did not need to get to the venue of the event to make the announcement if he truly cared about the victims of the train bombing, which occurred on Monday evening, the previous night.
“Contrary to his claims, the real reason was poor attendance; Buhari boycotted; the Senate President boycotted; only three governors showed up; Ganduje, Oyetola Gboyega of Osun and Lagos Governor, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu.
“Even the new chairman of APC (Abdullahi Adamu) was absent. The Kaduna incident happened the night before. It was all false that he cared about the train victims,” one of the top sources explained.
SaharaReporters also learnt that by shunning the event, the President and other chieftains of the APC were sending Tinubu a subtle but important message – you don’t have our support for 2023 presidency.
“They used their absence to send a final message to Tinubu that he won’t be their candidate. Tinubu had arrived in the hall and was ushered in by his supporters and even Governor Sanwo-Olu was ready to read his speech when the event was cancelled under the pretext that ’60 persons’ were killed in the Kaduna train bombing.
“He (Tinubu) only used that to save face; the truth is that he was embarrassed by the level of attendance despite assurances that heavyweights would attend.
“Even the Vice President (Prof Yemi Osinbajo) didn’t attend, though he was in Abeokuta the previous day,” another top source said.
Tinubu has been going round the country and meeting with traditional rulers and other leaders to seek support for his 2023 presidential bid which he called a “life-long ambition”.
He met with Buhari in January 2022 to formally declare his intention to run, saying he intends to step into his shoes, and not on his toes.

E2%80%93-femi-falana Nigeria Does Not Have A Constitution – Femi Falana

Nigeria does not have a constitution, according to renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria said this on Sunday on 90MinutesAfrica hosted by Rudolf Okonkwo and Chido Onumah.

“What we call a constitution or what our courts refer to as a constitution is a legal document which is better called Decree 24 of 1999 signed into law by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar,” he noted.
Falana, who is a principal partner at Falana and Falana Chambers, said the Nigerian constitution is not “a legitimate document, but a legal document which we had all thought was going to midwife civil rule that will ultimately lead to genuine democracy in our country.”
Since the return to civil rule in 1999, Nigerians have been clamouring for a new constitution. Falana noted that the ruling class is not interested in the debate about a new constitution because “the current decree which they call a constitution is sufficient for them.”
General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) who served as the last military ruler in the country, supervised the transition to civil rule which saw General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd) emerge as a civilian president in 1999.
Nigeria’s current constitution was signed into law as a military decree and handed over to the civilian government after the election in 1999.
Falana called for a political and legal approach to the campaign for restructuring.
“The struggle for restructuring is a political and legal struggle,” he said, citing examples of the onshore-offshore dichotomy and the VAT struggles to buttress his point.
Commenting on those who claim to be progressives serving in the current government, Falana said their “activities have shown that the word progressives has assumed a new meaning in Nigeria.”
He noted that in the context of Nigerian politics, the word progressive has become meaningless.
According to him, any political party that functions like a “parastatal of the federal or state government” cannot claim to be progressive.
“Political parties should be an organisation of the people, not the governors or the president,” he stated.
He revealed that his group was in the process of forming a mass-based political party that would make the interest of the Nigerian people its priority.
Falana decried the way politicians move from one party to another. He noted that before now people could easily predict along which lines political parties would vote on a particular issue based on their party ideology.

Oyo Technical Varsity Denies Ties With US-Based Professor Alleging Unpaid Salaries, Breach Of Contract

The management of the Technical University, Ibadan, Oyo State, has dissociated itself from claims made by United States-based Professor, Godwin Sadoh alleging non-payment of salaries and contract breach.

Sadoh had alleged that Afolabi Oladapo, a former Head of Service of the Federation breached a contract he had with him when he was the acting Pro-Chancellor of the university.

According to the don, he was recruited from the United States under the Nigerians in Diaspora Scheme to assist in creating a music programme that would be rooted in 21st-century music technology, for the university, which was under construction at the time.

He added that Afolabi went as far as conscripting him to create the academic programme for all the departments in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from the first year to the fourth year, including the intensive summer curricula.

Reacting to the allegations in a statement, Akeem Lasisi, the university’s public relations officer debunked the allegations, stating that Sadoh’s claims could not be verified.

According to the PRO, the US-based professor had earlier sent a letter to the First Technical University, however, a search of the available records did not yield any evidence of his assumption of duty.

The university added that it advised Sadoh to take appropriate legal action.

The statement reads, “The attention of the management of the First Technical University, Ibadan (Tech-U), has been drawn to a report circulating online, in which one US-based Professor Godwin Sadoh alleged that the university owes him several months’ salary based on a contract he says he entered into with a former Acting Pro-Chancellor of the university, Professor Afolabi Oladapo.

“We are surprised that Professor Sadoh is claiming that he was contracted to ‘assist in creating a music programme that would be rooted in 21st-century music technology, for the newly emerging Technical University of Ibadan, which was under construction at the time.’

“Tech-U’s value is rooted in engineering, technology and sciences, all with technological, technical, vocational and entrepreneurial orientation. So, Sadoh’s specialisation is not even part of the institution’s mandate.

“Besides, he claims to have designed a music building, students’ concert hall and ‘the Performing Arts Centre’. All of these are surely in any way not part of the university’s heritage.

“Sadoh also says he was asked to create ‘the academic programme for all the departments in the College of Agricultural Sciences’, which also, either by design or physically, is non-existing on our campus.

“It is also instructive that Professor Sadoh is further claiming that he composed Tech-U’s anthem. This is very strange and, indeed, false. Our anthem has a living history.

“It was composed by Olufemi Ogunniran of Ogidiolu Afrocentric Media and Entertainment, with modification by the university management, based on inputs from a competition we launched on the project, with people from Ife-Ibadan axis mostly participating.

“Ogunniran, who studied Philosophy at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is into music and other forms of entertainment.

“Others who contributed to the making of the anthem include Professor Femi Adedeji of Music Department, OAU; and Dr Tolu Owoaje of Music Department, University of Ibadan. We should add that the university ensured it give honorarium to each of those whose submissions made reasonable sense even if such did not make it to the final stage.

“Sadoh had earlier sent a letter to the First Technical University, in which he made claims that could neither be verified nor supported by documents. A diligent search of records available in the university did not yield any evidence of his assumption of duty.

“As a matter of fact, he has been advised to take appropriate legal action if he has his facts. Unfortunately, he has chosen to adopt a method of online blackmail to attempt to bring the university into disrepute. The general public is hereby implored not to fall for this cheap blackmail and deliberate misrepresentation.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the university does not owe any staff (full time, part-time and contract staff) as our salaries are paid on or before 24th of every month, and this is what we have been doing since the inception till date, without any inch of failure.”

Secret Police, DSS Arrests Council Chairman For Brandishing Gun At Social Event In Oyo

The Department of Security Services (DSS) has arrested the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mr Kazeem Adeyemi Gbadamosi, who was recently sighted brandishing a gun at a social function.
The event was held at Elewuro, Akobo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, last Friday.

A source at the DSS office in Alalubosa, Ibadan who confirmed his arrest to SaharaReporters on Wednesday, said a team of legal personnel from the ministry of justice has been coming to solicit his release but the management declined.

According to the DSS source, Gbadamosi was arrested on Tuesday so he can explain why he was threatening people with a gun.

SaharaReporters recalled that when the story broke, the local government boss said he did not want his enemies to kill him the way they killed a former member of the House of Representatives, Olatoye Sugar.
He said that was why he was armed.

The source said: “It is true (he has been detained), the man is with us. He must explain to us why he was threatening people with a gun. I understand the state government has sent a legal team to our office today, but the man won’t be released until we conclude our investigation and the right thing is done.

“He was arrested on Tuesday. His action has created fear in the minds of the people. Why must you take such a step at a social function?”

Landowner Petitions Nigerian Army Commander, Police Commissioner After Soldiers Brutalise Builders Over Land Dispute

A landowner in the Awowaya area of Ajah, Lagos State, Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police and the General Officer Commanding 81 Division over soldiers’ invasion of his building site and subsequent harassment of workers.
The petition was filed by the BADR M. B & CO and addressed to the two senior officers on the 21st of February and the 2nd of March respectively.

According to the petitions, a certain Mrs Edith Ude who claimed she acquired a large parcel of land in the area engaged the services of military officers to harass, embarrass and intimidate citizens in the environment.
However, the traditional landowners countered her claim, stating that neither Ude nor any Major General acquired a piece of land from them (the landowners).
It was gathered that on February 12, military officers in their numbers invaded the construction site of Alhaji Azeez and arrested workers, took them to Ude’s house and brutalised them.

This was after the soldiers had allegedly pulled down the fence of the building measuring about 2.160 feet on one side.
The first petition addressed to the Commissioner of Police stated, “On Saturday 12th February 2022, workers engaged by our Client on his acquired six acres of land to work on were already on-site early that morning (12 February 2022) when suddenly officers numbering about seven (7) in military camouflage drove a military pickup van with registration number DHQ-239 swooped on them and marched them out of the land to the apartment of the said Mrs. Edith Ude, falsely imprisoned them in order to mercilessly torture and beat them black and blue without stating what offence they have committed.
“The matter was thereafter reported to the office of the Military Police at the Bonny Camp, Ikoyi where three military policemen accompanied our client to Godwin Estate residence of Mrs Edith Ude on Sunday, 13th February 2022.
“It was at her private Godwin Estate that it was discovered that the number plate of the said pickup van was attached to the office of the Garrison Commander, Defence Headquarters Abuja; consequently a petition was submitted to the GOC 81 Division, Bonny Camp.
“Our Client reliably informed us that, officers of the Nigerian Army are still stationed on the land preventing our Client and his workers from working on the land without any lawful order from a court of competent jurisdiction.
“With utmost respect sir, no individual is constitutionally more important or more Nigerian than the other, we have taken the path of the law to ensure that violence is not encouraged, No One Has a Monopoly Of Violence!
“Should this affront continue unabated despite our petition, we will be left with no choice but to return the anarchy they propose with anarchy!
“Our demand: on behalf of our Client we demand a thorough investigation into this unfortunate incident and the culprit Mrs Edith Ude and all the military officers she is using be brought to book.
“Until we together put a stop at oppressive tendencies because of advantages we have over some others, this country will never develop.
“It is a further demand of our Client that appropriate disciplinary measures be recommended for the erring officers when found culpable, otherwise the community itself may rise against this unholy encroachment.”
A second petition addressed to the GOC 81 Division identified the names of the offending officers as Brig. Gen. Odunukwe, Col. Preye Fakrogha, Lt. Godwin, Staff. Sergeants Kefas and Oscar among others.
According to the petition, the officers who have been warned by a court to refrain from getting involved in land matters recently ordered Ude to go and erect a signboard of Godwill Estate Association on the land and torture anyone found on it.
The officers were also said to have continually stationed men in military uniform on the land claiming to protect the land on behalf of one Godwill Estate Association despite the fact that the land is a subject of litigation in suit No. LD/238/2013.
It added, “Not much could be done with the complaint made at the Bonny Camp Military Police office because of the status of the officers involved.
“That a court interim injunction was once granted against these officers on 14th June 2013, which the officers have ignored the court order till date.
“The officers have continued to claim that they bought about 140 hectares of land with only N25,000,000.00 (Twenty Five Million naira) only without proof.
“Whereas our Client who bought only six acres at N10, 800,000.00 (Ten million Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) with proof.
“Our demand: Immediate withdrawal of the officers stationed on our Client’s land. Removal of the Signboard erected on our Client’s land. Payment for the destroyed property of our Client. Payment for the hospital bill of the tortured workers.”

E2%80%98your-poor-handling-insecurity-pushing-nigeria-brink-pyrates-confraternity-tells-buhari ‘Your Poor Handling Of Insecurity Pushing Nigeria To The Brink,’ Pyrates Confraternity Tells Buhari

Days after the Abuja- Kaduna train bombing, the National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) has said the feeble handling of insecurity across the country is pushing Nigeria to the brink.
The NAS Capoon, Mr Abiola Owoaje condemned last Saturday’s breach of security at the Kaduna airport and Monday’s bombing of the Abuja- Kaduna train.

In a statement on Wednesday, Owoaje blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for the festering insecurity, noting that Nigerians do not deserve what they are being subjected to by the current administration.
Citing the statistics of killings and kidnappings provided by Dataphyte, a media research and data analytics company, put at 915 and 571 respectively for the month of January 2022, he said Nigeria is already becoming a failed country.
“The National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) is very disturbed by the steadily deteriorating security situation in the country. It is inexcusable that despite previous experiences in which the nation’s security system had been compromised, criminal elements could still find the avenue to inflict unimaginable injury on the psyche of Nigerians with their murderous activities. One is forced to ask what lessons our security operatives had drawn from earlier gaffes which had cost the nation precious human lives and property,” he said.
Owoaje noted that the Buhari administration should stop deluding itself with “exaggerated statistics of impressive performance”.
He, therefore, called on “patriotic Nigerians to lend their voices with ours to call on President Buhari to come down from his high horse, roll up his sleeves and save Nigeria from collapsing due to insecurity.”
He reiterated previous recommendations for the military and security operatives to invest heavily in technology-driven intelligence and equally harped on the “need by all stakeholders to develop a comprehensive security system of our railways to eliminate threats to the railway transport mode”.
The statement further reads: “No effort should be spared to fast-track the processes on the integrated security surveillance and monitoring solution to enhance the security on the railway.
“We also restate our position that President Buhari rethinks his reservations about State Police, rally all relevant organs and levels of government to put machinery in motion to urgently explore ways for the actualisation of well-equipped state police that will be more familiar with the terrain. Our military is clearly overstretched doing the work a robust and well-staffed police system can handle, and such can no longer be sustained.
“There are so many ungoverned territories especially forests in northern Nigeria that need attention. Now is the time to establish the Forest Guards to look after these Forest Reserves and prevent them from being sanctuaries for criminals.
“More so the capacity and capabilities of Park Rangers should be upgraded to enable them to perform optimally and serve as the first line of defence against the rampaging terrorists. The President should act fast and prevent terrorists from defeating his government and overrunning the country; Nigerians are tired of the bloodletting.”

E2%80%99s-eye-ritual-power-disappear-kano Teenager Removes 12-year-old Boy’s Eye For Ritual Power To Disappear In Kano

A 17-year-old boy identified as Isah Hassan has been arrested for allegedly removing an eye of a 12-year-old Mustapha Yunusa in Dan Tsinke, Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State. Isah, popularly known as Shahidai allegedly removed Mustapha’s eye to produce a charm that would give him the power to disappear.

Following his arrest, Isah accused a 107-year-old witch doctor identified as Sayyada Furera Abubakar of asking him to bring an eye for the charm, Daily Trust reports. However, Sayyada denied the accusation levelled against her, saying she only wanted to assist Shahidai to produce traditional medicine. She said: “I am just a traditional herbalist. He’s lying. I have more than 50 grandchildren and I did not remove theirs. Why should I do that?”  Meanwhile, Dahiru Ahmad, the father of the victim, Yunusa is distraught about his son’s condition. He said, “I received a call that my son is at the Murtala Hospital. “Upon arrival, I was told that some bad eggs ambushed, attacked and removed his eye. “We thank God, with the aid of the police and the medical personnel, they have tried their best and the boy has recovered now surviving with one eye. “Yesterday, around 1 am, I received a call that the boy who removed my son’s eye has been arrested and he has confessed that he committed the offence.” Ali Abdulhamid, the Vigilante commander of Dan Tsinke who arrested the culprit, said: “We arrested Shahidai along the border of Kumbotso and Tarauni. “He removed the boy’s eye two weeks ago and to God be the glory, we arrested him while trying to remove another one. “One of our personnel reported the case to us that one boy wants to commit a crime and is asking for his support to do it. “He told us the nature of the crime and we asked him to go ahead and play along. “From there, he asked him to come along with a knife that he will use in removing the eye and still we asked him to give him and followed them behind to the crime scene where we successfully arrested the culprit.” The state police spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said that the police were investigating the case and would charge the suspects at the end of the investigation.
