E2%80%93-joe-igbokwe-condemns-ruling-party Despite All Efforts, Buhari Never Invited Me For Coffee – Joe Igbokwe Condemns Ruling Party, APC Over Fani-Kayode’s Defection

Joe Igbokwe

An All Progressives Congress chieftain in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has lamented the defection of a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, to the APC as well as the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to personally receive Fani-Kayode at the Presidential Villa.
Igbokwe said in a Facebook post that it was unfortunate that Buhari could give Fani-Kayode a hero’s welcome while those who had stood with him for years were never invited.

Joe Igbokwe

He noted that the APC rewarded enemies.
The APC chieftain wrote, “Despite all my push for the APC, Abuja has not given me a phone call talk-less of inviting me for a coffee with c in c (commander-in-chief) but here is a political charlatan and prostitute being given a red carpet in the seat of power, Abuja.
“APC reward enemies. They pamper enemies. This life no balance at all (sic).
“Please I am ok where I am today but I know countless number of APC diehards who are 100 per cent better than FFK. Nobody has remembered them. Not even a recharge card, not even a bottle of coke, not even thank you.”
Igbokwe, who is a former Publicity Secretary of the APC in Lagos State, said the party must understand the importance of ‘consequence management’.
He posted pictures of Fani-Kayode’s old posts insulting Buhari and embracing secessionists like Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra; and Sunday Igboho.
Igbokwe added, “In the APC we must learn consequence management. It takes discipline to build a nation and it takes indiscipline and impunity to crush and destroy a nation. Actions carry consequences.”
Fani-Kayode, who officially defected to the APC on Thursday, was one of the President’s fiercest critics and once described the ruling party as an evil association.

Nigeria Fading Away By Evans Ufeli Esq.

Evans Ufeli

Sometimes fear grips me that these fragile moments of life will fade away. It seems that I write against erasure. We are at the moment in this country struggling against uncertainty.
The cost of food now in the open market is gradually becoming an existential threat to the middle class, sub-middle class and the proletariats.
This is largely so because food production in Nigeria is from subsistence farming, where crops are cultivated manually and sold across the country.
The agricultural sector, however overstretched in Nigeria, had covered a void in the economy for so many years since manufacturing died for lack of electricity in our country.

Evans Ufeli

Government failed woefully to provide power for companies to flourish, so they all left us to neighboring countries and this shook the foundation of our economy so badly with inflation doubling in geometric proportions.
Today, the government has failed again to provide security as farmers can no longer access their farms, not to talk of cultivating any crop therein. The result of this is the current hike in the prices of food as insecurity has displaced farmers, many have lost their lives while others have lost seedlings and  are currently taking refuge in the IDPs  across the country.
Under the watch of our government, two significant aspects of our economic well-being have been ruptured and completely ruined for lack of power and insecurity. There is a third one today – the educational sector.
Our schools at all levels are under severe attacks. Bandits are going from schools to schools, kidnapping children, disrupting educational activities, and demanding ransoms from their victims under intense threat to kill them if they fail to pay ransoms.
Government on her part isn’t willing to fund education either, so we are gradually shutting-down on all our major socio-economic indices and activities to contend fully with real misery in the days to come.
The situation is scary because it doesn’t look like this government has any solution to the myriad of problems it has allowed to pile up to this stage.
If the forces of insurgency weakens us further by impoverishing us economically and politically, the enemies will have succeeded in overrunning  this space to impose a system on us that will neither allow freedom nor grant us our fundamental rights.
I would therefore advocate, that the Nigerian citizens must think about the future of this country and do something fast about it. We don’t know where government’s loyalty lies in the matter under reference. The government has refused to name and prosecute the sponsors of insurgencies. It has people who have professed sympathy for terrorism in its cabinet and it has been incredibly cold-feeted in bringing the enemies of the state to justice. What is invariably means is that government has not shown the credibility of decency and the faith that it can be trusted.
I shall go to Rabbi again

E2%80%99s-betrayer-%E2%80%93-o%E2%80%99odua-peoples-congress Discredited Minister, Fani-Kayode Lacks Integrity, He’s A Betrayer – O’odua Peoples Congress Warns Yoruba Nation Agitators

Femi Fani-Kayode,

Yoruba socio-political group, the O’odua Peoples Congress, has accused a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, of being an agent of the Nigerian government among Yoruba Nation agitators.
The group made this known in a press statement by its Publicity Secretary, Yinka Oguntimehin, titled, “Defection: Be ready for more betrayers, OPC blasts Fani-Kayode says, “FG’s 4bn dollar loans have no economic value”, on Friday.

Femi Fani-Kayode,

The OPC told Yoruba people to be ready to see many betrayers in the coming days, saying “more people like Femi Fani-Kayode abound within the South-West region”.
It described Fani-Kayode as a “political jobber with no ideology”, adding that he “has no measure of integrity”.
The organisation said the defection of the former aviation minister was “never a surprise because he had been romancing with All Progressive Congress stalwarts all over the country”.
Before rejoining APC, Fani-Kayode was one of the outspoken politicians in support of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, fondly called Igboho.
Also, Igboho had in a statement issued by his former media aide, Olayomi Koiki, in March 2021, said, “Chief Femi Fani Kayode is one of the stakeholders that identifies with us on the struggle of Yoruba Nation agitation. We have 100 per cent confidence in him (Fani-Kayode).”
OPC, however, urged Yoruba people not to be disappointed by the ex-minister’s move.
The statement partly reads, “You can’t trust a politician, Femi Fani-Kayode is just one out of the lot. He has no principle, and he is an agent of the government. So it is never a new thing to see him defecting from PDP to APC. Fani-Kayode has no measure of integrity and he is a political jobber with no ideology.
“Of what value is his defection to the APC? But the truth is Yoruba should be ready for more of Femi Fani Kayodes in our midst.”

E2%80%93-attorney-general Nigeria Government To Appeal N20billion Awarded By Court For Sunday Igboho – Attorney-General, Malami

Abubakar Malami

The Federal Government will appeal the judgment of an Oyo State High Court which awarded N20billion in damages against the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the AGF, Abubakar Malami (SAN), announced the decision of the Federal Government to appeal the judgment while speaking on the development in an interview on Friday.

Abubakar Malami

The suit, bordering on breach of fundamental human rights, was brought by the Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, more commonly Sunday Igboho, to the court.
The court, sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, awarded N20billion in damages against the AGF and the DSS over the alleged invasion of the residence of Sunday Igboho on July 1 this year at the Soka area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Malami said that efforts were already being made to commence the process of appealing the judgment.
NAN recalls that Igboho’s Counsel, Mr Yomi Alliyu (SAN), had filed a N500 billion fundamental human rights enforcement suit against the AGF, DSS and Director of the DSS in Oyo State over the incident.
Alliyu also claimed that his client’s house and cars were damaged, while two occupants of the house were killed by security agents during the incident.
But Counsel to the AGF, Mr Abdullah Abubakar, had argued that there was no evidence before the court that the blood seen in the video clip tendered by Alliyu belonged to a human being.
Abubakar also said that there was nothing in the video clip that showed that the house that was invaded belonged to Igboho or linked the AGF with the invasion.
He had urged the court to disregard the exhibits and dismiss the entire suit.
The Counsel to the DSS, Mr T. A. Nurudeen, aligned with the submission made by the counsel to AGF, insisting that there must be proof from a hematologist to show that the blood seen in the video belonged to a human being.
Nurudeen also tendered a video clip which was admitted by the court, where Igboho allegedly threatened to create an Oduduwa Republic, while urging the Yoruba to protect themselves with charms and guns.
However, delivering his judgment, Justice Ladiran Akintola, said the style and procedures adopted by the DSS during the incident was unprofessional.
Akintola said that the applicant had demonstrated to the court that his fundamental right to personal liberty, right to life and blocking of his account amounted to violation of his fundamental rights.
He awarded N20billion as exemplary and aggravated damage in favour of the applicant and N2million cost also in favour of the applicant for instituting the case.

E2%80%98criminally-silent%E2%80%99-over Sheikh Gumi Openly Defends Bandits But South-East Governors, Clerics ‘Criminally Silent’ Over Nnamdi Kanu – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described as “loathsome and distasteful” the silence of the governors of South-East and South-South regions over its leader, Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention by the Nigerian government.
The group stated that the governors’ attitude justified its position that they were complicit in the extraordinary rendition of the separatist leader orchestrated by the governments of Nigeria and Kenya.

It, however, commended National Assembly members from the South-East, who regardless of their party affiliations, constituted a panel on Wednesday to look into Kanu’s travails and insecurity in the region.
This disclosure was made in a statement by the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, obtained by SaharaReporters on Friday.
The statement reads in part, “We the global family of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by Nnamdi Kanu find loathsome and distasteful, the complacent attitude of South-East and South-South governors and religious leaders over the fate of our leader following his abduction and extra-ordinary rendition from Kenya to Nigeria.
“It’s baffling that since June 19 that Kanu was abducted in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria in clear violation of international laws, the South-East and South-South governors and religious leaders are yet to openly condemn the act or take any action to register their displeasure with the impunity of the federal government of Nigeria.
“This criminal silence strongly confirms our earlier understanding and fears that these hypocritical leaders and traitors may be part of our leader’s ordeals. While leaders from other zones are courageously speaking up for their own, governors and religious leaders from South-East and South-South have kept mute for reasons best known to them.
“Sheikh Ahmad Gumi and Fulani governors in the North have never hidden their support for bandits’ killer herdsmen who they have consistently advocated amnesty for but religious leaders from Biafraland are sore afraid to talk of the release of Nnamdi Kanu who committed no crime but asked for the freedom of his people including these leaders and their families.
“We are watching and keeping records. When the chips are down we will know who is who,” the statement read further.

Femi Fani-Kayode And Eneke The Bird By Achike Chude

Achike Chude

It must be the fruits of a turbulent spirit. Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo described him more as a man ruled by the cravings of his stomach rather than the demands of mental exegesis.
But when you hear him speak, it makes you wonder. His eloquence and the structure of his verbal articulations mesmerise you into having greater respect for the English language. When he writes, you are carried away by the poetry of his prose, the elegance of his style, and the depth and spread of his knowledge. You now realise that his argumentative style flows from his training as a lawyer. But you know that he owes the totality of his literary engagements to his training and learning of the classics. He must have been a good student of the ancient study of Latin and the Greek culture and history. He shows it in his literary engagements.
But that is as good as it gets for Femi Fani-Kayode or FFK. The classics is not just about Greek philosophy and aesthetics. It is also about refined conduct, nobility, human dignity, ethics, honour, and the common good. I am not sure that Femi Fani-Kayode imbibed these fundamentals of the classics. His general conducts are oftentimes at variance with the demands of classical education.
Yesterday, he did what others had many months ago, proclaimed loudly that he was planning to do. Of course, he denied it profusely with the same level and anger that Peter denied Jesus Christ. The man who has often told us how much he loves Jesus, called on the same Jesus Christ as a witness to his inviolable and implacable resolve to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come what may until the Lord comes.

Achike Chude

Well, he did not wait for Christ to come. He joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) party yesterday, quoting the permission given him by heaven to join the ‘party of darkness’ in other to bring light to the country. He joined the party that he had previously rechristened the ‘Almajiri Congress Party – ‘the party of darkness,’ while heaping all manner of insults on President Muhammadu Buhari whom he accused of killing some Nigerians through retroactive law. He called him a man with a pitiful and disgraceful record who looted the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF). Such a man, Fani-Kayode proclaimed, must never become the president of Nigeria.
The man who hates the president, met the man he hates yesterday – a president he had described as diabolic, and a bad person. He met him yesterday at Aso Rock. They were full of smiles Those who might not be surprised about Fani-Kayode’s 360 degrees about-turn, might however be confused about the president’s reception of FFK – until they remember that his party, the APC has a very forgiving spirit, having welcomed numerous alleged treasury looters to its fold. Its latest act of forgiving terrorists and bandits who have killed and raped thousands of Nigerians is another aspect of the party’s benevolence and forgiving spirit. The kingdom of the United Arab Emirates should learn a lesson about forgiving terrorists from Nigeria, instead of exposing them and successfully prosecuting them. Nigeria prefers to forgive them.
So, it is not out of character for the APC leadership to welcome Femi Fani-Kayode into its fold. Besides, he will be very useful in the build-up to the 2023 general elections. They need him to abuse certain persons of interest. Nobody can abuse better than FFK. Not even Laurel and Hardy, sorry Shehu Garba and Femi Adesina can match him in abuse.
So do not be angry with Femi Fani-Kayode. People say it is hunger. Hunger has a way of humiliating people and robbing them of their dignity.
Rather, show him some pity.
He is Eneke the bird.

BREAKING: Striking Nigerian Doctors Appeal Court Ruling Directing Suspension Of Industrial Action

The leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has faulted the ruling of the National Industrial Court (NIC) directing its members to return to work.
A communique jointly signed by NARD President, Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi, and the union’s Secretary-General, Dr Jerry Isogun, on Friday revealed that the doctors had begun the process to appeal the ruling.

“As we are all aware, especially those that were present in court today (Friday), the NIC has given a ruling on the application for interlocutory injunction filed by the Federal Government,” the statement said. “We are not satisfied with the ruling.
“After consultations with our lawyers, we have instructed our lawyers to appeal the ruling and file an application for stay of execution.”
The statement is in reaction to the ruling of Justice Bashar Alkali who ordered the resident doctors to suspend their ongoing industrial action and return to work immediately, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
Justice Alkali who ruled on an application by the government had also directed parties in the matter to return to the negotiating table, saying no amount of money could compensate for the loss of lives as a result of the impasse.
In demonstration of its displeasure with the decision of the court, NARD instructed its lawyers to file necessary processes, rather than ask members to return to their duty posts.
It also asked the doctors to remain calm and resolute, saying “everything depends on our firm resolve.”
“We are committed to protecting your rights within the confines of the law. We believe justice shall be ours ultimately,” the union told its members.
It stated that the court had reserved ruling on which application it would take first on Wednesday, and its lawyers argued that the court ought to hear and determine the Notice of Preliminary Objection (NPO) filed by the doctors to challenge the jurisdiction of the court before taking the application for an interlocutory injunction or any other application.
The union added that the court adjourned ruling on the argument on the matter until Friday, after which it ruled that it would take the government’s application for interlocutory injunction first while its NPO would be taken and determined along with the substantive suit.
“Also, our lawyers drew the attention of the court to our application for stay of execution of the ex parte order and that the court should take that application first. The court insisted that the government application would be taken first.
“On 15/9/21, the court ordered all parties to resume negotiations. The government refused to resume negotiations in line with the order of 23/8/21. Our lawyers reported this development to the court. We have demonstrated good faith and would continue to do so,” the statement said.
NARD accused the court of denial of a fair hearing by refusing to hear and determine its NPO before taking the government’s application for interlocutory injunction.

E2%80%93 Buhari Receiving Political Liability Like Fani-Kayode Into Ruling Party, APC Shameful, Insensitive – Ex-Minister, Dalung

Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung,

Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, says admitting discredited former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, into the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, is both shameful and insensitive.
This is as he also described Fani-Kayode as a “political hawker” and “liability”.

Solomon Dalung

In a statement issued on Friday, Dalung said he was ashamed that Buhari could share a table with someone who had called him a “criminal.”
Part of the statement read, “In the whole of my existence, I have not been ashamed of myself like yesterday (Thursday) when I watched Femi Fani-Kayode standing by the President in the State House in Abuja. I have no problems with people’s political affiliations but I have issues with the manner the confidence and goodwill of Nigerians are being gambled with recklessly by clueless political elites.
“Could recruitment of political liabilities in the face of raving insecurity that has claimed lives of many innocent Nigerians who voted for us be the priority now?
“What has happened to the humanity of APC leaders that we are so insensitive to the mode of the nation? If we have such political strategies of conquering political opponents like Femi Fani-Kayode, then why have we failed to deploy the same to defeat Boko Haram, banditry, unknown gunmen, kidnapping?”
He lamented that the mission of APC that they formed in 2015 had changed, adding that people now joined the party to get “juicy appointments.”
Dalung said, “This wasn’t our mission when we mobilised Nigerians to trust us with power in 2015. The fear of APC is the beginning of wisdom, once a corrupt politician joins APC his sins are forgiven; all corruption charges will be automatically dropped and compensations with juicy appointments will follow.
“Loyalty in the APC party is a capital offence, no wonder Femi Fani-Kayode insulted President Buhari and swore he will prefer to die than joining APC.
“He is now the latest political bride of the President whom he earlier called a “criminal”.  If this is what our party can offer at this critical stage of our national history, then Nigeria has entered one-chance.”

Gunmen Invade Kaduna Community, Kill Chairman Of Cattle Breeders, Miyetti Allah

Illustration

Gunmen have killed Abubakar Abdullahi, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria in the Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack happened in the early hours of Friday according to the Director of Media and Publicity of MACBAN in Kaduna State, Ibrahim Bayero-Zango.

Illustration

According to Punch, the MACBAN’s spokesman stated that the attackers stormed the home of the chairman, popularly known as Dambardi, in Lere town at about 1am.
He added that the gunmen demanded N20million from him before he was whisked away to where he was later killed along the Saminaka-Mariri-Zango highway.
He said, “Early this morning, one of our members called to inform the leadership of the state branch of MACBAN that at about 1:00am (Friday), unknown gunmen attacked the home of the chairman of MACBAN in Lere LGA and killed him.
“When they arrived the house at about 1:00am, they demanded the sum of N20m from him in order to spare his life but he told them he had no such money.
“Although he was able to raise N250,000 for the assailants, they took him to the back of the town along the Saminaka-Mariri- Zango highway where they shot him dead.”
The MACBAN spokesman, while condemning the attack, called on the state government and security agencies to investigate the attack so as to uncover the perpetrators of the heinous act.
“We totally condemn this heinous act and we are appealing to the state government and the Police to thoroughly investigate the attack and fish out the perpetrators of the attack.
“This is because Lere is one of the peaceful areas in the state where there has been no issue of herder-farmer crisis.
“There has been no issue of cattle rustling in the area but, surprisingly, somebody like the slain chairman of MACBAN, a strong supporter and promoter of peace in Lere, could be so brutally gunned down in that manner.
“We are sad over the incident,” he added.
