Buhari Gags Press, Accredits 10 Media Organisations To Cover Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial

The Nigerian Government through the Department of State Services (DSS) has accredited only ten media organisations for the coverage of the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) slated for Monday, July 26th.

Kanu, who was re-arrested in controversial circumstances in faraway Kenya, will be facing charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, illegal possession of arms, among others, before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

DSS, which has kept Kanu in its custody, restricted the number of media organisations to cover the trial to 10, to limit its coverage.

Those accredited include Daily Post, Premium Times, Thisday, The Nation, The Herald, and Daily Independent newspapers while the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) is leading the broadcast side.

Other broadcast media are Channels Television, Africa Independent Television, and TVC.

Also, the hearing of enforcement of fundamental rights suit filed by the five activists arrested at Dunamis International Gospel Centre (Glory Dome) by DSS operatives on July 4 will come up before Justice Obiora Egwuatu.

The trial judge had ordered the DSS to produce the activists in court on July 26th while ruling on the ex parte motion filed by their lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi.

SaharaReporters had reported how DSS operatives on Sunday blocked all the roads leading to the court and prevented human and vehicular movements in the area.

Meanwhile a human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has described the action of DSS to censor and limit the media coverage of the trial as an affront and crime on the press freedom, adding that the DSS has no right to accredit journalists covering the trial.

Kano Governor, Ganduje In Contempt Of Court, Comparing Cleric In Alleged Blasphemy Case, Abduljabbar To Boko Haram— Lawyers

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State

The lawyers representing Kano cleric, Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, enmeshed in a case of alleged blasphemy, have called on the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje to desist from issuing disturbing utterances against their client.

The call was made by Barrister M Bakaro, the head of the legal team representing Kajara in a press conference on Sunday evening in Kano.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State

He also alleged that Ganduje had compared the cleric to Boko Haram militants and a controversial preacher in the past, Maitatsine.

Bakaro, as well as other members of the legal team, noted that the statements of the state government are prejudicial and a threat to the course of justice for Kajara.

According to him, there are pending cases before the State and Federal High Courts as well as the Upper Sharia Court that should restrict the governor as the state’s Chief Executive from making utterances viewed as prejudicial and a threat to the course of justice as it relates to their client.

He also described the process of the arrest of the scholar as a violation of the proper legal procedure.

According to him, the governor wrongly ordered the cleric’s arrest, took him to court by 7:30 pm on the same day and later detained him in a Correctional Centre in Kano.

He said the action contravenes the law.

“On Monday, 19th July 2021, the Governor of Kano state in the midst of some religious personalities made statements implying the following: He linked our client (Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara) with the dreaded Maitatsine and the Boko Haram.

“He admitted making the order for the detention of our client at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Kano. The order which ought to have been made by the court before which our client is standing trial in case No. CR/1/2021. Likewise, the governor made a statement giving direction to the cause of the trial that is yet to commence before the Upper Sharia Court.

“He concluded that our client has abused the personality of the Holy Prophet of Islam (S) notwithstanding that it is a subject matter of a case pending before a court of law for determination which our client pleaded not guilty to.

“He denied our client his right to freedom of religion, thought and expression by accusing him of deviating from the view of Saudi Arabia Salafy scholars (which to the Governor shall be adhered to since it came from Saudi Arabia) despite the pendency of the case with suit No. FHC/KN/CS/145/2021 at the Federal High Court in which our client seeks to enforce his fundamental rights of religion, thought and expression as enshrined in the Constitution of Nigeria,” Bakaro stated.

The team of lawyers called on the Kano state governor to desist from further interfering in the course of judicial process as all the issues are now before various courts of law.

They also urged all stakeholders including the International Bar Association, Nigerian Bar Association, civil society organisations and security agencies in Nigeria to closely monitor the activities of Ganduje in relation to the cases and ensure that justice is not only done, but seen to have been done to their client.

FLASHBACK: How Sunday Igboho Predicted In 2019 Buhari Would Come After Him If He Fought Killer Fulani Herdsmen In Yorubaland

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho once said any attempt by young men of the South-West to protect themselves from killer herders will have grievous consequences as it will draw the wrath of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is Fulani.

In a 2019 video obtained by SaharaReporters, Igboho predicted that the Buhari-led government will frown on efforts by Yoruba people to protect themselves even though the government had not tried to stop the activities of Boko Haram militants in the North.

Igboho, in the video, stated this as the reason for his refusal to defend Yorubaland despite the role he played in the Ife-Modakeke crisis.

He added that there are also people from his ethnic nationality who are likely to betray him if he doesn’t apply wisdom in the agitations.

He noted that if truly Yoruba leaders want to stop the killings by Fulani herdsmen, they should convene a meeting where a document is signed notifying the world that Yoruba leaders have asked freedom fighters to defend all parts of Yorubaland.

This, he said, would protect agitators from whatsoever label the government of the day might likely give them.

He said, “My name is Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho. In our place, one is usually referred to by the name of his town or city. I am one of the warriors that partook in the war between Modakeke and Ife. Some of the people who know of my antecedent and what I did during the war, when they hear my name, they know I am a real warrior.

“During the struggles of (Rasheed) Ladoja and (Lamidi) Adedibu in Ibadan, those who wanted to impeach Ladoja, those who wanted to remove him from his position and all, those who knew what I did to ensure Ladoja didn’t get cheated, when some of them see me, they refer to me as a brave and courageous man because, despite the multitude of enemies, God fought for me.

“My opinion on Fulani killings is that Yoruba people must be united and speak with one voice. If our leaders truly want us to fight killer herdsmen, then our kings, elders must be at the fore, call us to a meeting and give us the mandate to protect Yorubaland.

“They must also invite journalists to cover the event so that the whole world will know that they gave us the mandate to protect the Yoruba people. May God be with us, what is the extent of the power of the Fulani people, they are very insignificant, I swear to God.

“But if we say we should put into use, the charms we inherited from our fathers, the Nigerian government will definitely tag us with another name.

“If the Yoruba elders and leaders know that Yoruba people are truly suffering, they should invite each and every one of us to a meeting together with the Obas, other traditional rulers. When they sit together, then they invite us… God is the most powerful, I am but a man, some people are more powerful than us, they should invite those ones too. Then after that, if they feel we can also make an impact, they should invite us. We will all sit together and see how we will find a solution.

“Some people only hear of my name, they haven’t seen me physically before, some people will say I can command a gun, I have only done this in the presence of a few people. For some people, they exaggerate what I have done while some will say I am just bragging.

“Well, for me to come now and say ‘I am Sunday Igboho, I want to fight for Yoruba people’, I’m sure within three days, Buhari will give a directive from Abuja, and soldiers will flood my house with weapons,  even more than their fight against insurgents in the North.

“The government has turned a blind eye to the insurgency in the North and the chaos caused by Boko Haram terrorists but by the time we try to fight for Yoruba people here, you’d see what the government will do, they will try to name it something else.

“All the onslaught of Boko Haram and those other terrorists in the North without a repercussion; by the time we try to protect our own people, the government will tag it as something else because some Yoruba people will go to the government and say ‘we know these boys, they are murderers, they are hired killers!’ Please, who have we killed, whose mother have we killed?

“Our struggle is simply to protect Yoruba people, that is why it requires wisdom, it is not something that someone will put on a uniform with charms and the rest and say we want to confront Fulani people.

“One has to sit, consult with Yoruba leaders, then they sign a document giving us the go-ahead that we have their support to protect Yoruba people all over Yorubaland.

”There are young men who are willing to protect their land, they will never flee, but it requires wisdom. We can’t just mobilise young men to go and start protecting our people from being kidnapped, it requires wisdom.

“If they (Yoruba leaders) are sure that they are our fathers in Yorubaland and that they are not bad fathers or betrayers, they should be at the fore of this discussion and see if we will go or not but they have refused to do so because of what they collect from politicians. I won’t say more than that.”

Igboho is currently detained in Benin Republic after security operatives arrested him on Monday following an alert the Nigerian government issued to its West African counterparts.
Before then, on July 1, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed Igboho’s house in Ibadan, Oyo State, killing two of his associates and arresting 12 others.
Igboho was able to escape but the government declared him wanted.

Ibrahim Salami, one of Igboho’s lawyers, disclosed that the agitator was being accused of stockpiling weapons.

The lawyer also said the Nigerian government accused the freedom fighter of calling for secession and disturbing the country.

Salami said, “The Nigerian government said Igboho was involved in arms trafficking into Nigeria.

“The second one is that he is causing disturbances in Nigeria and the third one is that he is trying to divide Nigeria into two or three.”

REVEALED: Real Faces Behind N181 Billion Fraud, Swindling Of Investors By MBA Capital And Trading Limited

In recent years, Nigerians have been victims of various Ponzi schemes, losing billions of naira to such schemes.

One of the latest ones involves MBA Capital and Trading Limited, a forex training and capital investment company.

SaharaReporters had in February exposed how the company obtained money from Nigerians using the guise of investment and disappeared.

Some of the victims claimed they were defrauded of billions of naira, adding that the company closed on December 22, 2020, for the festive season but it has failed to resume since then.

An investor, Favour Senibo, had told SaharaReporters that she invested her money with MBA after seeing a publication stating that the company was established with a vision to impact the general populace with the knowledge of trading forex and creating platforms that will bring about sustainable financial freedom.

She also said the CEO, Maxwell Odum, claimed the company had been certified by necessary regulatory agencies in Nigeria and that the company, unlike others, was not a Ponzi scheme.

Odum had promised a 15 percent return on capital investment (ROI) for investors with a capital Investment of N360, 000 to N5 million.

According to her, a few months later, it was announced that MBA had been acquired by a certain company, World Citizen Equity Partners (WCEP), which would inject more investment to grow the business.

Another investor, Alalibo Amachree, said MBA had changed its name to Men In Business Thrive And Credit Cooperative Limited (MIBAC). He said he heard about the investment company from an online advert, and invested N3.5 million.

Amachree said he had no job at the moment and was already suicidal because of the challenges confronting him.

Also, David Spencer, another investor, said he was introduced to MBA by a staff member who claimed that the investment scheme was government-approved.

He said he regretted his decision and was shocked by the developments.

Though MBA was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering by one Maxwell Odum as the CEO, SaharaReporters gathered that the company is owned by one Kevin Ndago, an ‘international fraudster’ who entered Nigeria as a Cameroonian along with his girlfriend, Bitaniya Zaeb, an Ethiopian.

They were said to have used Odun to defraud Nigerians of over N181 billion.

“Kevin Ndago who bears Kevin Kiliminati, his true identity was revealed recently in his Venuatu passport procured to hide his true identity as an international fraudster and ex-convict in Cameroon. He lured desperate Nigerians seeking second citizenship to be able to live abroad with promises of investment opportunities across the globe, investment partnership with billionaires across the borders of Nigeria,” a senior officer at Wuse Zone 3 police station told SaharaReporters.

We got to know all this information during an investigation where a Nigerian activist and legal practitioner was swindled of about $140,000 by the company to get French passports for his children living in the United Kingdom.

“Kevin’s main accomplice and girlfriend, Bitaniya Zaeb poses as a staff member of an international company called World Citizens Equity and Partners and deployed to Nigeria to oversee the affairs of the office. Their modus operandi engages citizens of other African nations and Nigerians who spy on Nigerians with big fat bank accounts after which Kevin and Bitaniya arrange to visit them. During the visit, the duo will convince the clients to part with their money.

“It was during the course of such racketeering that Kevin Ndago and Bitaniya Zaeb met with Maxwell Odum and decided to incorporate their scheme into MBA Capitals and quickly purchased over 90% shares of MBA Capitals using their former company, WCEP.

“While Kevin Ndago and Maxwell Odum are still at large, Bitaniya Zaeb is still in Nigeria hobnobbing with Nigerian politicians to steal billions of naira being coordinated by a newly incorporated firm, called True-North Citizens Ltd. The True North Citizens Ltd is now being used as a front by Kevin Ndago who called the shot from the UK with his Nigerian accomplices and highly placed persons in the Ethiopian Embassy in Nigeria.

“Both individuals are currently fighting tooth and nail using the office of the Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police and some members of the National Assembly to thwart ongoing police investigations into their activities that were reported to our office and other police stations across the country.”

Meanwhile, some investors have petitioned Interpol and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) about the activities of the company and its owners.

Another police source told SaharaReporters many Nigerian politicians with corruption cases have procured second citizenship through the help of Bitaniya and Kevin.

“Many of their victims have since died whilst others are still believing in us (police) and EFCC to track Maxwell and Kevin in order to recover their funds.

“Whilst poor citizens are languishing in poverty and pains, Bitaniya and Kevin are living in affluence after using the proceeds of the crime to purchase properties in the UK, USA, Ethiopia and Dubai, so sad,” he said.

E2%80%94-ipob-leaders Don’t Arrest, Molest Kanu’s Supporters, It’s Not A Crime To Show Solidarity In Court— IPOB Leader’s Lawyer Tells Security Agents

Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has warned security agents against molesting Kanu’s supporters who might want to show up at the Federal High Court, Abuja on Monday for the IPOB leader’s trial.

In a press statement sent to SaharaReporters, Ejimakor said he was prompted to issue the warning based on media reports indicating that those coming to Abuja to show solidarity with his client will be harassed or even arrested by security agents.

He noted that anybody who wishes to be at the court would not be doing anything illegal, provided such a person comes in peace, albeit he added that this was not an invitation for Kanu’s supporters to throng the courtroom.

The statement read, “This press statement is prompted by media reports indicating that those coming to Abuja to show solidarity with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be harassed or even arrested by security agents.

“Let me make it clear that while I am not calling on people or Kanu’s supporters to throng Abuja for the hearing on Monday, it’s important to state that anybody who wishes to come is not doing anything illegal, provided such a person comes in peace.

“Kanu’s trial is an open trial, not a secret trial and he’s presumed innocent until proven guilty. Therefore, anybody wishing to be associated with his trial by being present in Abuja is protected by his Constitutional right to freedom of association and movement.

“So, my message to all supporters of Kanu and even to Nigerian government is simple and that is: Everybody should be strictly guided by the rule of law pertinent to why Nnamdi Kanu is facing these tribulations and trials.

“That pertinent rule of law is clearly codified by CAP A9, Laws of Federation of Nigeria, where it is stated at Article 20 that: ‘All peoples shall have the right to existence. They shall have the unquestionable and inalienable right to self-determination. They shall freely determine their political status and shall pursue their economic and social development according to the policy they have freely chosen’.

“Above is the fulcrum of every other crime the Nigerian government is alleging against Kanu. Therefore, once government recognises that the enterprise upon which Kanu is engaged is expressly recognised or protected by laws, it will see that dialogue, not trials and violence is the only legal pathway to containing it.

“I am saying this because the same law that protects self-determination also requires the government to accommodate it. Article 1 of that Law provides that Nigeria ‘shall recognise the rights, duties and freedoms enshrined in the Charter and shall undertake to adopt legislative or other measures to give effect to them’.

“Further, subjecting Kanu to any trial under the circumstances of his extraordinary rendition will face lots of legal challenges. Where the government missed its way is believing that it can suppress the desire for self-determination by means of punishment of some sort. History teaches that taking such a path ultimately proves fruitless,

“So, what is expected on Monday is not a trial in terms of taking evidence but a procedural routine lawyers call ‘taking a plea’ or a re-arraignment on the amended charges that might be brought.

“Should that happen, the procedure permits taking an adjournment to study the new charges for the purpose of advising the defendant on the next steps.

“So, there’s nothing significant that will happen on Monday that warrants anybody, including the government, to be jittery.”

Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his arrest and extradition to Nigeria from Kenya to face charges bordering on treasonable felony, among others.

BREAKING: Nigeria’s Secret Police Operatives Take Over Federal High Court, Abuja Ahead of Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken over the premises of the Federal High Court, Maitama in Abuja ahead of the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday.

Kanu is standing trial before Justice Binta Nyako for charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, illegal possession of arms, among others levelled against him by the Nigerian government.

A detachment of hooded armed officers was seen stationed at the entrance of the court with motorbikes and vehicles preventing human and vehicular movements into the area.

The operatives took over the surroundings of the court and the Ministry of Justice building, down to Abia State Government’s liaison office, preventing people from accessing the area.

Those who lodged in hotels in the area were prevented from moving in and out of the hotels as the officers insisted that they were on a special operation in the area and appealed to them for understanding.

The situation, however, led to an altercation as some affected persons engaged the operatives and insisted on going to their hotel rooms.

It is not clear if the operatives will allow those working in the area to have access to their offices on Monday.

Meanwhile, supporters of the detained IPOB leader have vowed to storm the court to show solidarity with their leader.

Kanu has been in DSS custody since he was abducted in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria, after his brief appearance before Justice Binta Nyako on June 30.

Lagos National Theatre Management Threatens To Dismiss Union Leader For Speaking On Alleged Corruption By Managing Director, Ododo

The management of National Theatre has threatened the Chairman of Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), National Theatre chapter, Comrade Augustine Agada with dismissal for sharing his thoughts on the alleged sale of property of the parastatal by the Prof Sunny Ododo-led management team.

Agada had in an interview with an online publication denied the involvement of the management in any shady deals, noting that the management sought the approval of the board before contracting an auctioneer.

He explained that the Ododo-led management team only sold obsolete items and that staff members were carried.

He said, “I was away in Calabar during the sales but members of staff were carried along before an auctioneer was brought in for the clearance sales.

“Beyond this, the National Theatre is a rumour mill that when someone says good morning, you should try and confirm before responding.

“We had a meeting with the General Manager on the condition of service for staff and the issue of the reports that alleged sale of property was raised. The GM asked if I was aware of it and I said no. He thereafter asked me to debunk it. We are not happy about the report because it was done without our consent. It has created a lot of discord and distrust among staff.”

In what the management described as unsatisfactory conduct, in a letter dated June 30, 2021, and addressed to Comrade Augustine Agada, titled ‘Preliminary Letter’, the management queried the union chairman and threatened to dismiss him for granting a press interview without authorisation from the management.

The letter, which was signed by the Director, Human Resources Department of the parastatal, Agbo A. Ita, read in part, “That without authorisation, you (Agada) granted a press interview to an online publication on the ‘Alleged sales of government property’ by the National Theatre management.

“That you further claimed that when the news about the sale of the National Theatre property went public, the General Manager invited you to find out what you know about the alleged sales of the items and he further asked you to debunk the allegation.

“That you impugned the character and integrity of the General Manager/CEO, Prof Sunny Ododo when you alluded that he could have given bribe to your sister union, AUPCRE (Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service, Technical and Recreation Services Employees), National Theatre branch, but not to RATTAWU, in order to kill the truth.

“The above actions of yours constituted serious misconduct punishable under Public Service Rule (PSR) 030402 (f) and PSR 030421 9c and d), for which disciplinary action, which may include dismissal could be taken against you.”

Reacting to the query, a member of staff who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the parastatal is under the siege of the management and that union leaders are no longer free to air their views on issues that affect workers.

The General Manager, Ododo, and his management team, according to the source, are quick to sponsor rebuttal in an online newspaper describing the said publication as false and malicious whereas the facts are glaring for everyone to see.

The source said, “The two unions: RATTAWU and AUPCTRE-The Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service Technical and Recreation Services Employees have become toothless and ineffective under this management.

“They have been forced to compromise. Prof Ododo issued a query to our chairman, Agada for granting a press interview and also gave the union leaders N5 million to debunk the publications in so many mediums.

“Things are going wrong at the National Theatre which we urgently need the Minister of Information and Culture (Lai Mohammed) to look into.

“There was a brand new transformer that was bought in 2019 for N14, 000, 000.00 but he sold it for N8,000, 000.00 and paid in N1.5 million into the Treasury Single Account. Let the GM refute this, the facts are there for everybody to see.

“Even during the last Sallah, when so many staff members were complaining of not getting anything, the GM bought bags of rice for N6 million to pacify, took pictures with them, and posted them on Facebook.

“The company he leased the portion of land within the premises to gave him three rams for the Sallah which he transported to Ilorin (the Kwawa State capital), saying he was going to deliver them to the Minister of Information and Culture but we know the Minister as a man of integrity and conscience which is why we are appealing to him to intervene and save the historic edifice from going into extinction.  We want the Minister to investigate all these claims and act on the truth of the matter.

“It is not enough for the foot soldiers of the management to describe our publication as one-sided and that it does not represent the interest and opinion of the staffers of the National Theatre. Rather they should investigate all the allegations and address all the issues raised.”

Meanwhile, there have been reports about how despite the warning by the Nigerian government that any portion of the national heritage in the country should not be ceded out to any person or group, the management of the National Theatre reportedly leased out a portion of land within the premises to a private business owner.

For instance, a report by Legit NG said in contravention of the minister’s (Mohammed’s) directive, the management of the National Theatre led by Ododo, as contained in a Memorandum of Understanding dated January 15, 2021, conceded 8,004 square metres of land on lease to Adewaxs Global Ventures for three years.
A staff member of the parastatal, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said there is hardly any week the management would not move a truckload of valuable items and appliances out of the premises.
The items allegedly sold by the management, according to the source, included newly installed 1500kva transformer, galvanised Air Handling Units (AHU) ducts of more than 97 units, 11 air condensing units, 800 tons centrifugal chillers, 20 tons truck of armored cables, a truckload of galvanised pipes, accidented Prado Jeep, 2,000 black imported plastic chairs and 400 black imported tables.

But reacting to the allegations of leasing National Theatre space and selling properties to companies and others, Ododo in a recent interview said his mandate is to run the national theatre as a business enterprise.

He said: “I don’t know where the allegation of sales of property is coming from. When the facelift was to commence, we were given two weeks to move our property out of the main bowl. And in the process of doing, unexpected could happen.”

Buhari Government Gathering Evidence To Nail Igboho At Trial In Benin Republic Court

The Nigerian Government and security agencies are currently assembling critical evidence for the trial of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho in court on Monday.

Igboho has been in detention since Monday night when security operatives in Benin Republic arrested him alongside his wife.

In a report by Vanguard, among the critical pieces of evidence are dozens of ‘exclusive’ videos where Igboho allegedly issued inciting statements that the Nigerian government may use in filing treasonable and felony charges against the agitator.

It was gathered that the video clips would be used by some security and intelligence agencies in prosecuting Igboho and ensuring he is indicted in court.

A top-ranking operative of an intelligence agency had said the video clips will suffice as evidence in nailing Igboho who is standing trial on Monday before a law court.

However, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami is yet to disclose the Ministry’s strategies towards the prosecution of Igboho.

PRNigeria quoted the spokesperson to Justice Minister, Umar Jibrilu Gwandu as saying, “It is a legal, judicial and the discretionary issue over which the Attorney General considers the public interest and the interest of justice to decide. The Attorney General of the Federation is considering and I believe is not bound by time limitations in exercising that discretion and considering the beneficial approach.”

Some of the video proofs are said to be ‘threats’ issued by the agitator to harm Yoruba leaders for not supporting clamourings for the Oduduwa Republic and over elections in Nigeria.

Another video to be used as evidence is one showing Igboho mocking the death of Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s son and praying to God to kill wives and children of leaders that do not support the Yoruba Nation.

In another video, Igboho dared soldiers, police, Department of State Services’ (DSS) operatives when they attempted to arrest him as he removed his shirt on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

His followers were also shown interrogating a man they claimed they captured as a DSS officer at Osogbo Yoruba Rally.

Another video shows Igboho directing his followers to forcefully open borders for smugglers with a follow-up video showing his militias invading Idiroko border and snatching guns from Nigeria Customs Service officers.

He had also appeared in another video threatening to fight security personnel, saying “if 1,000 policemen invade my house, hardly will 100 return.”

There is also a video of a live Facebook broadcast by one ‘Lady K’ when DSS stormed Igboho’s residence. The lady could be heard calling on Yoruba Odua Warriors to come to their rescue and attack the security operatives from the back.”

Detained Nnamdi Kanu Has No Access To Mobile Phone, Shun His Message About Biafra Radio Broadcaster—IPOB Tells Members

IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said its decision that Radio Biafra broadcaster Simon Ekpa would not continue as a broadcaster on station except he follows the rules and regulations guiding the operation, is still valid.
The group also stated that its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu has not issued any counter-statement as regards the matter as being circulated in some quarters.

IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

IPOB, through its spokesman, Emma Powerful, disclosed this in a statement made available to SaharaReporters on Sunday.
According to Powerful, Kanu has not had access to a mobile phone or disseminated any information on social media since his extradition from Kenya to Nigeria.
He also said the IPOB leader has been talking through his lawyers since he has been in custody.
While Powerful berated those saying Kanu has issued a statement from the custody of Nigeria’s secret police to reinstate Ekpa, for trying to implicate him, he also affirmed that IPOB will not bend the rules for anybody, including the Finland-based member.
“We the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, wish to debunk the fake news purportedly issued by our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Department of State Services’ (DSS) detention in Abuja concerning Mazi Simon Ekpa who refused to follow the rules of engagement over his appointment as a broadcaster on Radio Biafra.
“Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu never issued any counter-statement to our earlier position that Ekpa might not continue as a broadcaster on the platform following his unwillingness to do the needful, which is the rule for every broadcaster on the platform.
“We are warning those behind this fabricated statement to desist before they get the wrath of IPOB generally. Those behind this statement were doing to implicate our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because he is is not with his phone and anybody using this medium to implicate our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will fail. We are advising IPOB members worldwide, friends of Biafra and lovers freedom to disregard that fake statement.
“We are equally aware that since the 19th of June 2021 when the Nigerian Government and her counterpart, Kenyan government and her compromised security agencies committed unlawful rendition against the globe and our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has not touched any phone or had access to the social media,” the statement said.
While Powerful urged its members to ignore such a statement, he also commended Ekpa and the entire IPOB members for their immense contributions towards the movement.
In the statement titled, ‘Disclaimer: Our Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Never Issued Any Counter-Statement On Simon Ekpa – IPOB’, Powerful maintained that the separatist group has a firm foundation and no adversity can break it.
“Anytime you see such statements, disregard it and know that enemies of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are on the play, our leader doesn’t talk anyhow and he knows the rules and regulations of detention and must follow through his legal counsels to talk to IPOB worldwide and friends across the globe.
“While we continue to appreciate the huge contributions of Ekpa and other Biafrans towards the struggle for our liberation, we cannot change the rules of operation laid down by the IPOB hierarchy under the leadership of our Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Mazi Ekpa can still take up his assigned role once he does the needful like every other broadcaster on the platform.
“The purported statement is fake and never emanated from our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as he would have done so through his lawyers or the appropriate channels of information dissemination in IPOB. IPOB is firmly united under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu. Our enemies cannot succeed at this time to create confusion in our midst. There is no crack whatsoever in the ranks and file of IPOB.
“Our people should disregard this fake news and propaganda because it is not from our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. IPOB was built on a strong foundation by Nnamdi Kanu and nothing will shake the foundation. What we are facing now is nothing compared to what we have faced before. This family is unbreakable and our members are intact and nothing will break them,” the statement added.
