How I Lost Eight Family Members Including My Wife During Attack By Fulani Militia In Southern Kaduna –Survivor

James Enock

Some of the survivors of the recent attacks in Southern Kaduna have narrated their ordeal at the hands of the Fulani militia group, who invaded their communities and how they lost their loved ones in the attacks.
Some of the survivors, who spoke with SaharaReporters on Monday, said the horrible incident will continue to remain a nightmare as life will not be the same for them.
A particular survivor named James Enock, who lost his wife and seven other family members in Kigudu community, said the attackers arrived at the community around 11:00pm and set many houses ablaze.

James Enock

He said, “When they arrived, they started shooting and burning houses. When they got to where I and my family members were hiding, they killed many people including members of my family because we were not in our house.
“Five of them died on the spot but the other four were taken to the hospital thinking that they would survive. But my wife died on the way to the hospital and the remaining three died the following day.”
He explained that many people, who fled for fear of being killed, were later hacked to death in the bush because they could not cross a big river that demarcated the village.
He said, “My wife could have escaped only that she could not cross the big river. All the people that ran away when the Fulani attackers arrived were stuck because they could not cross and they were all killed.”
Enock further revealed that they notified security operatives of the danger before the attack but the military left a few hours before the gunmen struck.
He added, “It all started from a neighbouring community of which we heard that they promised to come back and we alerted the security on that particular day that these people promised to come back and attack our village.
“The military came around and stayed till about 4:00pm and left. They were well informed.”
Another victim, Diana Bulus, an eight-year-old girl, who lost her mother at Gora Gan Village, said she had a close shave with death when she heard the sound of gunshots by Fulani militia as people scampered for safety.

She said, “I can’t even recall how I escaped the attack but I just saw myself running alongside other villagers into the bush while the attackers were shooting at us.
“Some people were hit by bullets and fell down in the process. I managed not to stop despite the shooting.
“I slept in the bush because we could not return to the community again.
“But when I returned home the following morning, I met my mother and my brother dead.”
The eight-year-old, who had lost her father, is now left with nobody to fend for her.

People Can Mourn Me The Way They Like When I Die, Says Obasanjo

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has said Nigerians can mourn him any way they like after his death, a report by Premium Times said.
Obasanjo, who had taken a swipe at Kashamu after his death, drew criticism to himself as some sections of the country knocked him for his comments.
He also asked Nigerians criticising him over his comments on Kashamu to learn from the lives of the deceased and live well.

Kashamu, before his death, was wanted in the United States of America for alleged drug offences but was able to escape extradition from Nigeria to the US to face his trial.
Obasanjo said, “When I was growing up, in our community, when anyone known with bad character died, we usually only mourn him and bury him. No eulogy. No praise-singing.
“There is an English saying that urges us never to talk ill of the dead. But in this case, we are not talking ill of the dead. We are only drawing lessons from the life and history of the dead. I am not gloating over his death. It is sad for anyone to die and we must mourn him.

“But we must learn from such a passage. There will be bad lessons. There will be good lessons. But we should not just be praise-singing or eulogising the dead, especially when there is no need to do so.
“We should not cover up bad histories and conducts so that the right lessons can be learnt.
“As you know, I say my mind as truthfully as I know them and in line with my convictions. People are free to say whatever they want about my comment. I don’t begrudge people for holding opinions on whatever I say or do.
“Let people say whatever they like when I transit. Now that I am alive, am I not being abused? Whenever I transit, let people say whatever they know or think about me. Let them say it as it is. What my maker thinks of me is what matters most.”

C3%ADk%C3%A9-gw%C3%B9r%C3%B9-mariam-musa Íké Gwùrù By Mariam Musa

Everywhere else, I’m a symbol of equality
A perfect representation of impartiality
A goddess who has no regards for wealth or power
Who duly metes out justice by the hour

All over the world, I am a beacon of hope and truth
Who treats equally the aged and the youth
Who does not discriminate against ethnicity or race
And cares not about the colour of your face

But here, I’m the poster lady of a corrupt system
An unwilling tool in the battle of supremacy
Having no power to defeat or resist them
A weapon used to silence the enemy

Here, I am a victim who lives in fear
Of those who have ripped off my blindfold
And asked me to be brazenly insincere
To only do as I’m being told

Here, my sword is stained with the blood of the innocent
My scales weigh heavy with guilt and regrets
Here I am always part of an atrocious plan
Never the hope of the common man

Lebanese officials have said that the blast occurred when a fire ignited 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, a chemical used to make fertilizer and bombs, which had been stored in the Beirut port since 2014, despite warnings from a number of officials that it was dangerous.
Announcing his resignation, Diab said his cabinet members stepped down amid widespread anger over the death and destruction caused by the blast.
He stated that he has come to the conclusion that corruption in Lebanon is “bigger than the state”.
Diab said he is taking “a step back” so he can stand with the people “and fight the battle for change alongside them.”
He added, “This crime was a result of endemic corruption.
“I declare today the resignation of this government. May God protect Lebanon.”
President of the country, Michel Aoun, accepted the resignation of the Prime Minister but asked him to act in a caretaker capacity until a new cabinet was formed

We Could Have Used Military, Police, Others To Overrun Some PDP States During 2019 Elections –President Buhari

President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the governing All Progressives Congress could have used the military, police and other security agencies to overrun opposition states during the 2019 general election if it wanted but chose to be impartial in the exercise.
Speaking at a meeting with North-East governors on Monday, Buhari said the government wanted to show Nigerians that it was humane.
Among the Peoples Democratic Party governors, who attended the meeting at Aso Rock were Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Darius Ishaku (Taraba).

President Buhari

The President, who was speaking on the insecurity in the region, remarked that given what his administration inherited in 2015, Nigerians know that it had done its best.
He said, “We have problems with resources and security. You know what we inherited. The people of the North East will appreciate what this administration has done. The general report I am getting, other from the conventional ones from the intelligence sources, is that the Army should do better and this is the truth.
“It is so often coming to me that I have to believe it. I listened to your representation, the governor who is on the hotspot now in the North-East, Adamawa, Bauchi and the rest of them are enjoying peace. I hope they are respecting the sacrifice made by the military.
“I assure you North-East governors, especially the governor of Borno, that we go to bed and wake up thinking about you and how to secure our country. That is the fundamental responsibility of a government; security. In our party, we recognize this. We campaigned on three fundamental issues: security, economy and fighting corruption.
“Nigerians, we thank God, understood us and they voted for us. In 2019, we went round the whole country, saying the same thing and apologizing for not doing better, but we are doing our best. I think Nigerians believe us and we did our best. It is true that we lost some states as a ruling party in a developing country, which is normal. I am proud of that because we are impartial, that is why as the ruling party, we lost some states. That means we have our own mistakes.
“Some of those that defeated us are sitting here. We know we are a developing country but we respect our country, otherwise, with the use of the army, the police and the rest of them, we could have overrun you. We just wanted to show that we are humane and we are Nigerians. We will continue to do our best.”

The offence is contrary to and also punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Laws of Ondo State 2006.
On July 12, 2018; the victim was offered a ride while going to see her grandmother.
Kingsley instead tricked the teenager to follow him to his house under the pretext of greeting his family before raping in the process.

E2%80%99s-wife-aisha-travelled-dubai EXPOSED: Real Reason President Buhari’s Wife, Aisha, Travelled To Dubai

Fresh facts at the disposal of SaharaReporters have revealed that Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, who was said to have been flown to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, during the Sallah break over a severe neck pain, may have had other motives for going to the Arabian country.
It was reliably gathered on Monday that Mrs Buhari actually flew to Dubai in a jet belonging to billionaire Mohammed Indimi for the purpose of shopping for luxury items in preparation for the wedding of her daughter, Hanan.
Dubai is a popular destination for Nigerians especially the wealthy class seeking quality and expensive items for personal use and or grand ceremonies.

Before her trip abroad, President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have met with the family of Hanan’s fiancée for further arrangements and other processes forming part of the occasion to be put in place.
A source reliably informed SaharaReporters that Mrs Buhari’s travel was packaged to look like a health emergency in order not to raise eyebrows for violating government’s restriction on international flights due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

President Buhari’s Wife, Aisha, Flown To Dubai For Medical Treatment After Trip To Lagos

The Nigerian Government had on March 23, 2020 banned international commercial flights to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
“It was well planned, her neck doctor is in London not Dubai. She travelled to shop for luxury items ahead of Hanan’s wedding.
“There is presently a ban on international flights by the government except it is essential, so the best way for her to travel was under the guise of medical treatment,” the source said.
Hanan is a graduate of Photography from Ravensbourne University, London, United Kingdom.
Recall that in July 2019, she ordered the Department of State Services to arrest a young businessman based in Delta State, Athony Okolie, after he was issued a mobile number by telecommunications company MTN previously used and abandoned by her.
Okolie spent 10 weeks in unlawful detention before he was finally released by the secret police.
Earlier in January, Hanan was again in the news after she attended an event to photograph a Durbar by Rilwanu Adamu, Emir of Bauchi, in one of the jets in the presidential fleet.
The move was condemned by Nigerians even though the Presidency defended the action by saying that it was a normal procedure.

E2%80%99s-attorney-general-malami-lists-assets-letter-president-buhari-fails-mention Nigeria’s Attorney-General, Malami, Lists Assets In Letter To President Buhari, Fails To Mention Multi-billion Naira Properties Acquired After Becoming Minister

Abubakar Malami

Perhaps jittery that he may be fired after SaharaReporters in a series of detailed investigative stories exposed his corruption-fuelled lifestyle, Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, listing his assets he declared with the Code of Conduct Bureau before taking up his present appointment in 2015.
In the letter to Buhari, Malami claimed that he was not corrupt as alleged in the reports, adding that he had never taken a penny from public funds till date.
The AGF informed President Buhari that he was already a wealthy man with several thriving businesses before he came into government five years ago.

Abubakar Malami

The letter reads, “Your Excellency, since my appointment as a minister in your cabinet, I have conducted myself strictly within the confines of the Code of Conduct for public officers contained in Part 1 of the Fifth Schedule of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria, as amended.
“It is to be noted that apart from my successful legal practice of more than 20 years, seven of which were as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria before my appointment, I have as allowed by law had interests in business ventures, all of which I had resigned from active participation upon my appointment.
“Among other things, I owned lucrative business ventures of Rayhaan Hotels and Rayhaan Food & Drinks, both in Kano, since December 13, 2013, years before the 2015 election that saw to the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari as the President and long before I was appointed to be a minister in the first term.
“That informs why those items were included among 27 property listed in the Code of Conduct Bureau form filled by me when I was first appointed a minister.
“Your Excellency is invited to also note that while the Code of Conduct for public officers prohibits my active participation in the running of my already established ventures, it does not preclude me from gaining the fruit of my establishments. Hence, earnings from mainly the hotels, restaurants, farms are used to either improve these ventures or to expand and build new ones. In all these, the requirement of the law is that I declare at the point of exit from office as I have declared at the point of entry.
“On assumption of office in 2015, I had course as a constitutional requirement to file my assets declaration form at the point of assuming duty as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria detailing my assets which include: my houses (both residential and others) farmlands, hotel, school and other enterprises.
“Statements of accounts from all my banks were also submitted to the Code of Conduct which were duly verified as is the procedure after submission is made.”
But despite his claim of ‘sainthood’, Malami failed to disclose the value of his 27 properties at the time of acquisition and what they are worth now.
The AGF did not also mention a N3bn event centre and N2bn private school in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State, said to be popular among the high and mighty in that part of the country.
This is in addition to private jets, hotels and three homes in Abuja recently acquired by him that he failed to mention in his letter to President Buhari.

Malami also dished out untruth when he claimed that he had sued SaharaReporters over all the reports the online news medium published recently on his illicit amassing of wealth.
He had tried to use a non-profit organisation to press charges against SaharaReporters but that never saw the light of day.
Recall that in a series of text and photo stories, SaharaReporters had exposed how Malami, who was a little known lawyer before being appointed into the government of President Buhari in 2015, had maintained an opulent lifestyle fuelled by public funds despite displaying a saintly posture before the public.

Apart from purchasing a N300m mansion in Abuja and erecting another N100m property in Kebbi State for his newly married son, Abdulaziz, Malami broke the bank to hire several private jets to fly in family members and important guests to the lavish ceremony, which took place inside the Kano State Government House.
One of the legs of the ‘multi-layered’ wedding ceremony saw wads of naira and United States dollars being sprayed on Abdulaziz and his bride, Khadija Danbatta, thereby violating the Central Bank of Nigeria’s rule, which forbids the country’s currency from being sprayed or abused in any form in public.
