The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari not to dip hands in the N2.1 trillion pension fund to implement infrastructural projects in the country.
A committee headed by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state had in the course of the National Economic Council meeting in Abuja on Thursday, recommended the use of the fund to implement capital projects, including power, which has been a major challenge in the country for decades.

E2%80%95-war-monitor/ More than 60 dead in latest Syria clashes ? War monitor

Clashes between Syria’s regime forces and armed groups in the country’s last major opposition bastion have killed more than 60 on both sides in the past 24 hours despite UN calls for de-escalation, a war monitoring group said Friday.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 38 jihadists and allied rebels had been killed in battles with regime forces in the northwestern province of Idlib since Thursday night.
The fighting near the jihadist-held town of Maaret al-Numan also killed 23 Syrian regime loyalists, the Observatory said.

The crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State deepened further, as the leadership of the party accused former governor Ayodele Fayose of selling the party secretariat to himself by proxy.
The party alleged that Fayose sold the secretariat, to one of his cronies without the knowledge of the State Working Committee (SWC).
The party chairman, Mr Gboyega Oguntuase, who made the allegation on Thursday,  in Ado-Ekiti, while addressing newsmen on the recent development in the party, also threatened to sue the former governor if he failed to return what he described as the common patrimony of party members to the party.

Security guard docked over alleged theft of lover’s N1.09m

Sunday Adole, a security guard, on Friday appeared at the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, after he allegedly stole his lover’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and withdrew N1.09 million from the account.
Adole, 41, who resides at No. 9, Ijeun Street, Off AD Filling Station, Agege, Lagos is arraigned for stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Felicia Okwori, said the accused committed the offence in June, at Cement Area of Dopemu, Agege, Lagos.

Kelechi sometime in 2019 disguised himself as a l****** named Donna Walshak on the social media and used the false identity to defraud one Vanessa Rose who sent him steam cards worth $1,900USD, which he converted to cash by selling same on the internet.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called on the United States not to sign a trade deal with China unless Beijing agrees to release two Canadians detained since last year, prompting a defensive response from Beijing.
Former diplomat Michael Kovrig and businessman Michael Spavor have been held in China’s opaquCe legal system since they were apprehended on December 10, 2018, accused of espionage.

Uighur: China slams EU parliament over sanctions resolution

Beijing on Friday accused the European Parliament of hypocrisy, after a resolution called for targeted sanctions against Chinese officials over the treatment of the Uighur minority.
China has faced international condemnation for rounding up an estimated one million Uighurs and other mostly Muslim ethnic minorities in internment camps in the northwestern region of Xinjiang.
Members of the European Parliament said on Thursday that China’s human rights record had worsened in the past year, and called for the Chinese government to “immediately end the practice of arbitrary detentions without any charge, trial or conviction”.
