Sowore ReArrest: There will be consequences, U.S. senator threatens

A United States Senator representing New Jersey, Bob Menendez has denounced the actions of the Nigerian Department of State Services (DSS) for rearresting the RevolutionNow protest leader, Omoyele Sowore.
Menendez in a video addressing the world press conference with Sowore’s wife said; “He Sowore was released by court order. He should be released.”
“We are watching and we will continue to press and the consequences of anything happening to Mr Sowore will be far beyond any harm, that comes to him.”
“There will be consequences in our relationship with Nigeria.”
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has via its twitter account petition the United States president, Donald Trump to intervene in the RevolutionNow protest leader’s case.

Nyesome Wike: Bridge builder riding high

In 2016 while inspecting ongoing projects in the state, Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike said his administration had built over 200 roads and bridges in the state.
Since he assumed office in 2015 Governor Wike has built hundreds of bridges across roads in the state, he has even built symbolic bridges across political, ethnic and religious divides.
Nothing underscores this more than the peace and harmony that exists in Rivers State today.

A police officer in Umuaka village in Imo state allegedly shot dead an 18-year-old boy for retaliating when the officer slapped him.
Awuzie Duru, 18, was allegedly killed within the premises of a new generation bank branch at Umuaka on Sunday, December 1.
According to reports, Awuzie, popularly known as Aboy, from Isiozi Aka in Umuaka, Imo state, had gone to the bank to withdraw money from the bank’s ATM gallery.

$900,000 Grant: Niger Govt. to sensitise communities on urban policy

The Niger state government says it will commence sensitisation of stakeholders in communities across the 25 local government areas as part of preparation for the development of the state urban policy.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports in Minna on Saturday that Niger government is getting a 900,000 dollar grant from the South Korean government for the policy.
The policy seeks to develop the human settlement sector in a holistic, comprehensive and integrated manner through the formation of the state urban development policy.
