Neville: ‘Truly pathetic’ transfers has left Arsenal with ‘average’ squad

Gary Neville has labeled Arsenal’s recruitment strategy as “truly pathetic” after Unai Emery was sacked. The Spaniard was fired on Friday morning after the loss to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night took Arsenal‘s winless run to seven matches.
And Neville thinks the players have “let him down” while the club’s “recruitment policy” has not been good enough.
“I don’t know who’s been responsible for recruitment over the last two or three years, they’ve chopped and changed, there have been new people brought in,” Neville told Sky Sports.

Suspect in London stabbing was previously convicted for terror offences – Police

The man suspected of having stabbed two people to death in London on Friday before being shot dead by police was identified by authorities as 28-year-old Usman Khan, who had previously been convicted for terror offences.
A man and a woman died during the attack on London Bridge, police said in the early hours of Saturday.
A man and two women were also injured and remained in hospital. Police are treating the case as a terrorist incident.

Pep Guardiola ‘open’ to extending Man City stay

Pep Guardiola is open to the possibility of extending his contract at Manchester City. The two-time Premier League-winning boss’ current deal at the Etihad Stadium ends in 2021.
Should he see out the contract, he will have been at the club for five years – a year longer than he spent in charge of Barcelona and two more than he was at Bayern Munich.

Navy cautions personnel against hate speech, cybercrime

Rear Admiral David Adeniran,  the  Flag Officer Commanding, FOC,  Eastern Naval Command has warned naval officers and ratings on the consequences of engaging in hate speech, cybercrime, drug abuse and rumour-mongering saying anyone who indulges in such would be made to face the law.
Speaking in Calabar on Friday during the 2019 annual Commanding Officers Ceremonial Sunset parade stated that such attitudes have no place in the Armed Forces but teamwork, loyalty and commitment to duty are the core values which are acceptable.

Mob lynches another LASTMA officer in Lagos

One of the officers of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, identified as Mr. Ola Oyesina was Saturday evening hacked to death by mob around Igamu area of Lagos State.
Recall that similar incident happened in Apapa area of the state about two years ago.
According to LASTMA source, the victim was attacked tat about 5.pm during the course of sanitising Iganmu-Sifax area of gridlock.

Fire disaster averted again as tanker spills content on Otedola Bridge

For the fourth time within a week, emergency response team in the early hours of today, Saturday, prevented possible fire explosion as another tanker loaded with 33, 000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, fell on the notorious Otedola Bridge, along Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
The incident, according to report, happened at 4.45 am when the tanker on Otedola Bridge, inward Capital Oil Filling Station, Lagos Ibadan Expressway, suddenly fell on the road as a result of over speeding by the driver.
