Stakeholders strategies to disarm, re-orient repentant terrorists

Security stakeholders have been urged to chart a roadmap for the disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR) of the repentant and captured Boko haram terrorists in the North East.
The Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) in collaboration with NEEM Foundation on Tuesday organised a Two-Day Roundtable Discussion on DDR, Peacebuilding, and Reconciliation in the North East in Abuja.
Neem Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organisation that is committed to improving the lives of those affected by the North-East insurgency in Nigeria through building inclusive communities, providing and raising the standards of psycho-social care and countering extremist narratives.

Court remands prophet for allegedly defiling minor during prayer vigil

An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Monday, November 25, remanded a 25-year-old prophet, Adebowale Obaloluwa, in custody over alleged defilement of a 14-year-old girl.
The defendant, who claimed to be a prophet and interpreter of tongues at a branch of Cherubim and Seraphim church, is facing a charge of defilement. His plea was, however, not taken by the court.
The Magistrate, Mrs C. K Tunji-Carrena, ordered that he should be remanded in the correctional facility in Lagos pending legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The black boxes from two French military helicopters that collided in Mali killing 13 soldiers have been found, a French military spokesman said Wednesday.

The crash occurred on Monday during an operation against jihadists in the restive region. It was the heaviest single loss for the French military in nearly four decades, AFP said.

The Police have recovered 23 ATM cards from a middle-aged woman suspected to have stolen them from clients in Tanzania.
ZimEye reports that Halima Juma was arrested at CRDB bank ATM in Mbagala after a teller at the financial institution suspected she was up to something fishy.
Halima Juma was arrested in possession of 23 stolen ATM cards.
The teller claimed he grew suspicious when Halima used different cards of the same bank to withdraw money from one ATM machine.

Less sleep, long working hours, noisy neighbourhoods, major factors

People with less than average means who are unable to have quality sleep as a result of working long for long hours daily and residing in noisy, non-conducive neighbourhoods are more prone to develop heart disease than the rich, Swiss scientists have claimed in the new research.
When the researchers, at the University Centre of General Medicine and Public Health in Lausanne, Switzerland, compared the history of coronary heart disease with annual salaries of participants in the study, they found that there was a direct relationship between their rate of heart disease and their income.
