U.S. Treasury expects to borrow $352 billion in fourth-quarter

The United States Treasury said on Monday it expects to borrow $29 billion less during the fourth quarter than previously estimated.
The department said in a statement it expects to issue $352 billion through credit markets during the October-December period, assuming an end-December cash balance of $410 billion.

Treasury also expects to issue $389 billion in net marketable debt in the January-March 2020 period.

Another Nigerian killed, 2 others injured by unknown gun men in South Africa

The Nigerian community in South Africa has again been thrown into mourning following the killing by unknown gunmen of one of its members who also left two others injured.
Mr. Odefa Ikele, the National Spokesperson of Nigerian Union South Africa, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos.

FG pledges sustenance of “Operation White” to curb fuel smuggling

The Federal Government says it will not relent on the sustenance of “Operation White” developed to eradicate the smuggling of Premium Motoring Spirit (PMS) across Nigerian borders.
Mr. Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum, gave the assurance on Monday while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 13th Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL Africa Downstream) Conference in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference has as its theme: “Growth, Innovation, and Technology”.

Man rapes dancer ‘after asking for private dance’ in strip club

A 28-year-old man has been arrested by Texas police after allegedly raping a dancer at a strip club, Cloud 9, at Texas, United States.
The suspect, Zachary Johnson was arrested at a nearby store after he was tracked using a phone number he left with another dancer in the adult club.
Johnson according to Abilene reporter at about 1:40 am asked the strip club employee for a private dance.

U.S wants to bolster fight against ISIS after Baghdadi’s death

The United States wants to bolster a coalition fighting Islamic State in northeastern Syria, a senior State Department official said on Monday, after the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was killed in weekend operation.
World leaders welcomed his death, but they and security experts warned that ISIS, which carried out atrocities against religious minorities and horrified most Muslims remained a security threat in Syria and beyond.

Police keep mum on alleged kidnap of 2 personnel

As it confirms another kidnap case

The Nigerian Police has confirmed the report that two persons have again, been kidnapped in Abuja but kept mum on the identities of the victim who were reported to its personnel.
The FCT Police Command, in a statement through ASP Yusuf Mariam, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, said it had begun frantic efforts to rescue the victims.

The two persons were said to have been kidnapped along Abaji-Rubochi axis over the weekend.

84-yr-old arrested for trying to burn down mosque in France

84-year-old Claude Sinké was arrested by France security on Monday after he allegedly shot and injured two Muslim worshippers at a mosque in Bayonne, south-western France.
The suspect according to report was trying to burn down the mosque during the time he inflicted the harms on the victims.
Sinké was a former election candidate for Marine Le Pen’s far-Right National Rally. He was arrested at his home in Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx, near Bayonne after fleeing the scene by car.
