South Eastern Alliance for Democracy and Progress (SEADP) has cautioned media practitioners to stop using their platform to deliberately spread fake news for cheap propaganda and pecuniary benefits. The group dropped this hint in Enugu after a one- day interactive session on the role of media in the fight against insecurity in the country. According to a statement released to the media by group’s Secretary-General Dr. Jideofor Nzekwe, the group affirmed that media has a constitutional role in a democracy which must be discharged according to the law.

Archaeologists in Egypt have discovered a long-lost 2,200-year-old temple thought to belong to Pharaoh Ptolemy IV.
The ancient tomb structure according to CNN report was accidentally found by construction workers during drilling on a sewage drain in the village of Kom Shakau in the Tama township in northern Sohag, according to a Facebook post made on September 29 by Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities.
Drilling work was suspended following the discovery. Archaeologists quickly found stone inscriptions with fragments of text featuring the name of Ptolemy IV, the fourth pharaoh of Egypt’s Ptolemaic dynasty.

A day old baby girl, 14 other women were reportedly released by armed bandits operating in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The victims were said to have been abducted from Mallamawa village in Jibia area of the state.
Speaking while receiving the victims, Governor Aminu Bello Masari said the victims were the last batch of the victims kidnapped and expected from the bandits following the peace dialogue initiative.
