Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has stressed the need for a collaborative effort among stakeholders to tackle the myriad of challenges facing Nigeria.
Identifying five major issues as defining factors for Nigeria’s economic woes, including youth unemployment, poverty, corruption, weak institutions and insecurity, he said the challenges must be tackled for the country’s economy to be on good standing.
Providing lasting solution to the economic challenges confronting Nigeria, on Friday night at the 2019 Independence Dance of the Island Club, where he was honoured and inducted as member of the club, the governor said collaborative effort among the states, individuals, corporate bodies and federal government would be required to tackle the economic challenges in Nigeria.

Six elephants have fallen to their deaths in Thailand while trying to save each other from a notorious waterfall.
Officials said the incident occurred after a baby elephant slipped over the waterfall in central Thailand’s Khao Yai National Park.
Two other elephants were also found struggling on a cliff edge nearby, and have been moved by Thai authorities.
The waterfall, known as Haew Narok (Hell’s Fall), has a history of similar incidents.

A military court in Cameroon has freed opposition leader Maurice Kamto, who had been in prison for nine months and facing charges of insurrection.

Mr Kamto was detained after organising protests in January against the result of last year’s presidential election.

WAFU Cup: Super Eagles crash out, lose on penalties to Cape Verde

Nigeria’s Super Eagles team B on Saturday crashed out of the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations in Senegal.
 The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team lost all their games so far in the tournament.
In Saturday’s encounter, the home-based Eagles lost 2-3 on penalties to Cape Verde, after the game ended 1-1 at regulation time in their classification match.
The Eagles failed to win a game in the competition having lost 2-1 to Togo in their opening game.
