Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has charged Nigerians to resist the temptations of speaking evil of the country and its leaders.
The governor gave the advice on Wednesday at the opening of the Standing Committee of the Church of Nigeria; Anglican Communion at St. Peter’s Cathedral Church, Asaba.
The session, which was chaired by the Primate of the church, the Most Rev. Nicholas OKoh, had as its theme as  “Fight the Good Fight of Faith”.

Mr Edward Kallon, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, has expressed shock and sadness over the murder of an aid worker by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno.
This is contained in a statement by the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), issued on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
Kallon called for unconditional release of other humanitarian workers in insurgents’ captivity.

The Imo Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has restated his administration’s commitment to the implementation of a veritable pension administration in the state.
The governor stated this in a goodwill message at the third quarter consultative forum organised by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) in Owerri on Wednesday.
Ihedioha, represented by his deputy, Mr Gerald Irona, said that his administration was committed to the welfare of pensioners through sustainable payment of pension.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) will partner the Ministry of Works and Housing and other relevant agencies to rehabilitate port access roads to stop gridlocks around the seaports.

The NPA Managing Director, Ms Hadiza Usman said this on its ‘Special Day’ at the 2019 Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) organised by Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
In order to assist the Terminal Operators, Usman said that one of the primary infrastructural requirements for efficient operations at the ports in terms of movement of cargo and economic activities was port access roads.

Ekweremadu, who was reacting to allegations of abandoned projects in the constituency, said Enugu West remained foremost on implementation of constituency projects in the country.
The senator’s Special Assistant on Projects, Mr Jonathan Ivoke, said the former deputy president of the Senate, challenged any person who cared to come for a tour of the constituency and other projects which he attracted to the district.

Motorcyclists protest colleague’s killing in A-Ibom, destroy NTA vehicles

* Police said 20 protesters arrested

Motorcyclists especially commercial operators yesterday stormed the Uyo station of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA protesting the alleged killing of their colleague at Mbierebe Obio community in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state by the police.
It was gathered that the deceased was allegedly shot dead by the operatives of the  Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) while he tried to
resist them (police) from enforcing the ban on his colleagues.
