The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has just released the telecom sector porting activities for the second quarter of 2019, indicating that the 4th telecom operator 9Mobile is gaining tremendous ground with the highest number of subscribers porting into its network at the end of the quarter.
9Mobile also led in quarter one, gaining more subscribers from the bigger networks. According to NBS, the telecom operators which has gone through harrowing times from $1.2 billion loan debacle to losing a major investor and partner Etisalat of UAE and a complicated sales story managed to accumulate a whopping 19,369 subscribers in porting activities in the quarter while just about 4,900 subscribers left its services.

Iran has been developing nuclear weapons at a secret site which it then destroyed in order to hide evidence, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed.
According to DailyMail, Netanyahu revealed the existence of the site, which he said is located at Abadeh in central Iran, during a dramatic press conference on Monday.
Pointing to satellite images of the compound, in the central Iranian town of Abadeh, he said Israel uncovered its existence in nuclear archives captured from Iran.

North Korea said on Monday it was willing to restart nuclear talks with the United States in late September, but warned that chances of a deal could end unless the United States (US) takes a fresh approach.
North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, agreed in a June 30 meeting with US president, Donald Trump, to reopen working-level talks stalled since their failed February summit in Hanoi, but this has yet to happen in spite of repeated appeals from Washington, Reuters reported.

Apple alters algorithm to less favour own apps ranking

Apple Inc, following antitrust scrutiny in Europe and the United States, has altered the search algorithm for its App Store so that the company’s own apps do not dominate the top positions, the New York Times reported on Monday.

Apple declined to comment on the report, according to Reuters report.
Apple made the tweaks in July, the Times reported. The newspaper performed an analysis of six years of search results that showed that Apple’s own apps ranked first for at least 700 search terms in the store since 2016.
