ABUJA – The Joint Action for the Advancement of Democracy in Edo JAADE has asked the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to intervene in the leadership crisis rocking the Edo state House of Assembly, saying the party leader cannot afford to allow undemocratic tendencies to prevail in the state.
“The APC and its national chair, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole must double down and escalate the necessary interventions in the circumstance to restore sanity to and enthrone legitimacy in the Edo State House of Assembly”, the group stated.

According to him, Nigerian government does not need to pay trillion of tax payers money to subsidise imported refined petroleum products once crude would be taken directly to the existing functional refineries across the country.

A resident of Borno state has said that Nigerian army, soldiers put up a very good fight  against Boko Haram fighters who had invaded the town on motorbikes and gun trucks.
A resident said : “The soldiers put up a very good fight in Bama today. Boko Haram men were outgunned; the terrorists who survived fled and ran away through the bush path they came from,” he said.
A military source said troops from Jakana, Minok, a neighbouring  town, were deployed to support the soldiers in Bama and with combined efforts, they were able to overpower the insurgents.
