Turkish Airlines pledges to return passengers baggage before Dec. 17

Turkish Airline has pledged to commence immediately freight of all leftover passengers’ baggage in Turkey to Nigeria following the suspension of its operations in Nigeria.
The General Manager, Public Affairs, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr Sam Adurogboye, stated this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.
Adurogboye explained that the management of the airline had met with the NCAA management in Abuja on Friday to resolve the leftover baggage issue.

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) Governorship candidate in the 2019 Lagos State Gubernatorial Election, Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi, has urged Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to “wake up” to the challenges of delivering dividends of democracy to Lagosians after 200 days in office.
Speaking during a media parley with editors in Lagos, the ADP candidate scored Sanwo-Olu low across all sectors of governance, saying that “the governor could have done better”.
“Sanwo-Olu needs to find his spine, he needs to find his backbone, he needs to find his will and execute what he said he will execute if elected the governor of Lagos state when we had that famous pre-election debate.

Falana urges Malami to withdraw all charges against Sowore, Bakare

Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), on Friday, asked the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), to withdraw pending criminal charges against his clients, Mr. Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare.
Falana said in a statement that there was no evidence to get the ‘RevolutonNow’ protests conveners convicted.
He was reacting to an announcement by the AGF office on Friday that a letter had been sent to the Department of State Services to hands off the case involving Sowore and send the case files to his office.

NNPC declares N5.20bn trading surplus in August

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said it made ?5.20billion trading surplus for the month of August, reflecting an increase of 22 per cent compared with the ?4.26 billion surplus posted in July.
The corporation disclosed this in its Monthly Financial and Operations Report (MFOR) for the month of August released in Abuja on Sunday.
It attributed the appreciable increase of 22 per cent within the period under review to largely the improved surplus posted by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, yesterday said with the upgrade of the runway of the Asaba International Airport to meet international standard, large airplanes can now land in Asaba as the AZMAN AA 5N-AIS made its maiden flight into the airport.
Okowa who was represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu at the airport to witness the landing of the aircraft, said other machines capable of flight could now avail themselves of the luxury of the Asaba International airport.
