One of the Yobe State Government’s top officials, Mamman Mohammed, has reduced himself to an All Progressives Congress spokesman in the state, issuing press statements over the just concluded ward congress of the party.

The statement issued by Mohammed quoted Buni as saying reports from across the states reaching his office indicated that the congress was successful and peaceful.
Meanwhile, the job functions of the office headed by Mohammed were officially developing and implementing the governor’s communications strategy.
The office also serves as the point of contact for media seeking information about the governor and the governor’s programs.
Mohammed’s statement reads, “I wish to congratulate us all for the peaceful and successful conduct of the ward congress. The massive turnout of members in the Congress reflects the success of the membership registration and revalidation exercise.
“It also reflects the unity and confidence of our members in the repositioned APC and its leadership,” Buni said.
“I want to assure our members that their choice of leaders at the ward Congress and indeed, subsequent congresses will be respected. The party has put some measures in place to check and rectify anomalies arising from the Congress. We are committed to building a strong internal democracy to give the party a strong leadership that is genuinely elected by the people,” he said.
Buni urged aggrieved parties to seek redress through constituted channels in the party.

E2%80%93-ipob-leader%E2%80%99s-lawyer-insists-after-fresh-visit Nnamdi Kanu Needs Advanced Medical Care – IPOB Leader’s Lawyer Insists After Fresh Visit
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has stated that the IPOB leader still needs advanced medical care, despite the fact that he is “firm and stable.”
Ejiofor, who visited Kanu on Monday, noted that Kanu extended greetings to his supporters worldwide and all foreign governments and institutions which were relentlessly following up.
The IPOB leader’s lawyer stated these in an update sent to SaharaReporters on Monday after he was able to visit Kanu in the custody of the Department of State Services in Abuja.
Ejiofor said, “After weeks of speculations and uncertainties, we have finally seen our Client-Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We can authoritatively confirm this position to the World.
“He is firm and stable, less the burden of solitary confinement and concomitant mental torture arising therefrom. Though the detaining authority is giving him medical attention, he still requires advanced medical care, which formed substantial part of the relief in our application before the Court.
“He specifically requested that we should extend his heartfelt compliment to millions of his supporters worldwide and all foreign Governments and institutions who are relentlessly following up. Media houses are indeed not left out of this classification.
“We are winning but your prayers are doing wonders, don’t relent, as you continue to remain law abiding. We shall continue to keep you all in constant communication on every development around him particularly now that the visit will be more regular than before.”
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja had last Monday adjourned the trial of Kanu to October 21, due to failure of Nigerian Government to produce him in court.
When the matter was called up, the prosecution counsel, M. B. Abubakar, had informed the court that the matter was slated for hearing and that they were ready to continue.
But Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ejiofor, had informed the court that there was a pending application before the court to transfer Kanu from the custody of the DSS.
Justice Binta Nyako had stated that the trial could not continue in the absence of the IPOB leader since he was not available to stand his trial.
The court adjourned to October 21, 2021, for continuation of hearing.

E2%80%99s-ticket-apc-defector-nwankwo Anambra Poll: African Action Congress Denies Giving Party’s Ticket To APC Defector, Nwankwo
The National Working Committee of the African Action Congress (AAC) has denied choosing one Dr Chidozie Nwankwo as the party’s candidate in the upcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
Femi Adeyeye, the AAC National Publicity Secretary, in a statement warned Nigerians not to deal with Nwankwo as he is not a member of the party.
The party also condemned a publication by a news website, elombah.com with the headline, “Anambra 2021: 11 Gov aspirants dump APC en masse, move to AAC” (sic).
The statement reads, “It could be recalled that the NWC has widely disclaimed that the said Chidozie Nwankwo is not a member of the party let alone a candidate. And that no member of the public should deal with him on that basis.
“These elements should be avoided like a plague, as they are trying to deceive the unsuspecting public into their agenda of teaming up to continue looting the resources of our people, particularly in Anambra State.
“We wish to add that the AAC does not hand over its revolutionary flag of integrity and patriotism to just anybody to fly anyhow. The word “flagbearer” has been so tainted in today’s politics that we do not find it sufficient to use.
“For the purpose of educating the public on our methods, it is not enough to fly the flag of the AAC, what’s sufficient is that our candidates “fly” the manifesto, programmes and revolutionary posture of the party, which is to fight for the welfare of our people regardless of tribe, colour, religion or creed.
“We reiterate that the African Action Congress (AAC) is a party for social engineering, different in all colourations from what have been obtainable in the political terrain since the transition to civilian rule.
“The AAC is not a “special purpose vehicle” for negotiations with elements either organised in APC, PDP or their annexures who have destroyed the past, present and are already planning to set the future of the everyday Nigerian ablaze.
“It is to this, we call on the Publisher of Elombah.com to retract the circulated publication IMMEDIATELY or face political and legal actions from the party.”

BREAKING: Hushpuppi Scandal: Inspector-General Of Police Announces New Replacement For Suspended Abba Kyari To Head Intelligence Team
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has approved the posting of DCP Tunji Disu as the new Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team following the suspension of DCP Abba Kyari indicted in the fraud allegations against serial fraudster, Ramon Abbas, more commonly called Hushpuppi.
Kyari had been suspended on Sunday even as the United States’ Federal Intelligence Bureau continued to push for his extradition to the United States in the ongoing investigation into Hushpuppi multi-million dollar internet fraud.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, in a release, said Kyari had been replaced with DCP Disu, which was on “the heels of Management’s decision to fill the leadership gap within the IRT and refocus the Unit for better service delivery.”
Mba said, “The IGP has charged the new Head of the IRT to demonstrate his professional competence in his leadership of the Unit. He also assured citizens that the IRT will remain focused in the discharge of its duties in line with national statutes and international best practices.
“Prior to his appointment as the new Head of the IRT, DCP Tunji Disu, a former Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Lagos State, was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
“He had also previously served at the State CID, Rivers State as the Deputy Head of the Unit. He was also a former Commander of the Nigeria Police Contingent to the African Union (AU) Peace Keeping Mission in Dafur, Sudan.”
According to the US Department of Justice, a criminal complaint initiated the prosecution of Hushpuppi in February as court documents ordered unsealed showed that Abbas, a 37-year-old Nigerian national, pleaded guilty on April 20.
The United States Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, had issued an arrest warrant against Kyari for his alleged links to Hushpuppi, who is standing trial for various offences that include internet fraud and money laundering.
Hushpuppi has since pleaded guilty to the charges and, if convicted, risks a 20-year-jail term, three-year supervision upon completion of jail term, and monetary restitution to the tune of $500,000 or more.

E2%80%98insulting%E2%80%99-buhari-sgf-mustapha Adamawa Court Jails Youth Two Years For ‘Insulting’ Buhari, SGF Mustapha
Justice Dimas Gwama of the Magistrates’ Court IV in Yola, Adamawa State sentenced a youth, Ikamu Hamidu Kato, to two years’ imprisonment for insulting president Muhammadu Buhari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.
The court sentenced Kato to a one-year jail term in each of the offences with an option of N25,000 fine on each offence.
SaharaReporters had earlier today reported that Kato was remanded in prison for insulting Buhari and Mustapha on social media.
Kato, a youth leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the Hong area of the state, allegedly took to his Facebook page to condemn the insecurity in the area following recent attacks by armed men suspected to be Boko Haram members.

Adamawa Court Remands Youth Leader In Prison For Calling Buhari, SGF ‘Useless’ Over Insecurity

He was alleged to have insulted Buhari and Mustapha in a viral video on his Facebook page.
The presiding judge said in passing the sentence, the court had considered the remorseful mien of the convict and his plea for mercies.
But Gwama said despite his show of remorse and plea for mercies, the court had to convict him to serve as deterrent to others.
Earlier, the convict pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy by convicting him with an option of fine because he was a family man and had orphans under him.
He was later invited, investigated and arraigned before the court by the Department of State Security (DSS).
Upon his arraignment before the court on Friday last week, the convict pleaded guilty when the charge sheet was read and explained to him.
The court then adjourned the matter to Monday, August 2, 2021 to enable the complainant call witnesses and tender exhibits in order to corroborate the plea of the defendant following an application by counsel to the complainant, M.A. Adamu.
During court sitting on Monday, the counsel assembled two witnesses including the DSS operative, Zayyanu Adamu and the Chairman, Adamawa State Concern Citizens, Husseini Gambo Nakura, who testified and tendered confessional statement of the defendant in a flash drive.
To show its disapproval of his action, the Hong local government chapter of the PDP has suspended the youth leader, saying it would not allow such level of indiscipline by its members even against leaders of the opposition political parties.
The Chief Magistrate, Gwama, who took the plea of the accused, had ordered him to be remanded in prison till August 2.

Again, Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Overseer, Olukoya Loses Against Blogger, Maureen Badejo In UK Court
A United Kingdom High Court of Justice, Strand, London, (Queen’s Bench Division) has set aside the judgment received by the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, in a case against a Nigerian blogger, Maureen Badejo, over alleged defamation.
According to the court order obtained by SaharaReporters, the UK judge in his judgment set aside the March 30, 2021, judgment by a High Court of Justice in Ogun State of Nigeria in proceedings numbered AB/407/2020 obtained by Olukoya.
The judge also on July 28 ordered the claimant, Olukoya, to pay £50.00 within 14 days to Badejo as application fees.
The judge said, “Upon the application of the Defendant, AND UPON hearing the solicitor for the Claimants and the Defenfdant in person, IT IS ORDERED THAT:
“The registration orders each dated 30 March 2021 in respect of the judgment dated 9 February 2021 of the High Court of Justice of the Ogun State of Nigeria in proceedings numbered AB/407/2020 as a judgment in the Queen Bench Division of the High Court of Justice are set aside.
“The Claimant shall pay the Defendant cost of the application assessed at £50.00 within 14 days.”
In February 2021, the Ogun State High Court had ordered Badejo to pay N500million to Olukoya for defamation.
Abiodun Akinyemi, while delivering the judgment, had also ordered Badejo, the proprietor of Gio TV, to pull down and erase the offending online publications concerning the claimants from the internet.
But the UK court set aside the rulings in a july 28 court judgment sent to SaharaReporters.
The UK ruling came a few weeks after a United States District Court in California also struck out a case by Olukoya against the blogger.
The US Court in the case Number 20-cv-08001-HSG also gave an order “denying motion for default judgment” and it dismissed the case for lack of personal jurisdiction.

Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Overseer, Pastor Olukoya Loses Against Blogger, Maureen Badejo In US Court Over Defamation
0 Comments
“The plaintiff (Olukoya) filed a motion for entry of default on February 3, 2021, and entry of default was noticed by the Clerk on February 4, 2021. At the initial case management conference on February 16, 2021, the Court expressed to Plaintiffs’ counsel concern that the Court lacked subject matter and personal jurisdiction over this matter.
“The Counsel responded that he would consult with his clients to either file a notice of dismissal or a motion for default judgment that set out the basis for the Court to exercise jurisdiction.
“On March 9, 2021, a letter from Ms. Badejo was entered into the docket in which she stated that she is a permanent resident of the United Kingdom and that she disputes the Court’s jurisdiction over her. Plaintiffs filed the currently pending motion for default judgment,” the court document reads.
In the judgment delivered on May 6, the US District judge, Haywood Gilliam, stated that the plaintiffs’ (Olukoya and MFM) motion for default judgment is denied and the case is dismissed.
The judge had said, “In determining whether the exercise of personal jurisdiction over a nonresident defendant is proper, a district court must apply the law of the state in which it sits when there is no applicable federal statute governing personal jurisdiction. District courts in California may exercise personal jurisdiction over a nonresident defendant to the extent permitted by the Due Process Clause of the Constitution.
“The party seeking to invoke jurisdiction has the burden of establishing that jurisdiction exists. Here, Plaintiffs offer no argument that the Court has general personal jurisdiction over Defendants and allege no facts to establish that Defendants’ contacts with California are ‘substantial’ or ‘continuous and systematic.’ Plaintiffs allege only that Ms. Badejo is a Nigerian-born blogger who resides in the United Kingdom; that she operates an online news site, Defendant Gio TV, with an emphasis on Nigeria; and that this online news site is accessible on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
“Their allegations are insufficient to establish general personal jurisdiction over Defendants. Plaintiffs thus fail to show that Defendants directly targeted California with their conduct and therefore cannot satisfy the express-aiming element of the Calder effects test, which is required to establish the first element of the Ninth Circuit’s test for the exercise of personal jurisdiction.
“Accordingly, the Court finds that it lacks personal jurisdiction over Defendants. Conclusion – Because the Court lacks personal jurisdiction over Defendants, Plaintiffs’ motion for default judgment is denied, and the case is dismissed. The Clerk is directed to terminate the case. It is so ordered.”
In 2020, Badejo was accused of using her social media channels to blackmail Olukoya and his church on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
She claimed that Olukoya and his church, the claimants, duped the United States Government by selling his books in the US without paying due tax.
The blogger also alleged that a pastor from MFM in the UK paid £150,000 into the personal account of Olukoya and then went to Nigeria to meet the cleric so he could help him cover up his fraud.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has alleged that money laundering suspect, Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, paid N8million, approximately $20,600, to the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, as a bribe for the arrest and detention of a “co-conspirator,” Chibuzo Kelly Vincent.
This was revealed by FBI Special Agent, Andrew John Innocenti, in a document titled, “Criminal Complaint By Telephone Or Other Reliable Electronic Means” filed before the United States District Court For The Central District Of California.
The document dated February 12, 2021, alleged that Hushpuppi contracted the services of Kyari after a fellow fraudster Chibuzo Kelvin allegedly threatened to expose an alleged $1.1m fraud committed against a Qatari businessman.
“Kyari provided the account information for a bank account at a Nigerian bank, Zenith Bank, in the name of a person other than Kyari himself,” a part of the document stated.
