Fresh oil spill rattles Rivers community
A fresh oil spill has occurred in Bodo City in Gokana Local Government Area (Ogoni) of Rivers State. It was gathered that the spill, which occurred on Thursday, July 4, around 12:45am in the Sugi area of Bodo community very close to where multiple oil spills had occurred in recent times on the Trans-Niger Pipeline (TNP) operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) Limited was caused by equipment failure. NLC demands immediate reversal of new electricity tariff hike
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called for an immediate reversal of the new tariff hike by electricity Distribution Companies (DisCOs), saying it would do further damage to the economy.
