E2%80%94group Lagos Building Collapse: Compel Surveyor-General, Sangowawa To Disclose Owner’s Identity—Group Tells Probe Panel

The Eti-Osa Bar Forum has called on the panel set up by the Lagos State government to prevail on the Surveyor-General of the State, Surv. Olutomi Sangowawa, to immediately unravel the identity of the owner of the landed property upon which the Ikoyi collapsed building was built. The group has also set up a legal aid Situation Room for families of recovered and deceased persons, yet-to-be recovered persons and brutalised survivors to seek justice under the law.

This was made known in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Oladotun Hassan; Secretary, Ayo Ademiluyi who also doubles as the Coordinator of the Ikoyi Building Collapse Legal Aid Situation Room and Andrew Bethel Philip, Chairman, Young Lawyers’ Forum and Deputy Coordinator of the Situation Room. The statement reads: “Amidst the cacophony of different postulations of the identity of the owner (s) of the landed property upon which the building that collapsed at Gerrard Road, Ikoyi is being built, we of the Eti-Osa Bar Forum hereby call on the Panel of Inquiry into the Ikoyi Building Collapse to issue summons on the Surveyor-General of Lagos State to tell the whole world who the REAL OWNER(S) of the property is/are.“We have set up a Legal Aid Situation Room in public interest for families of recovered and deceased persons, yet to be recovered persons and brutalised survivors to seek justice under the law.“Hotlines of our Situation Room are 09097933015,+234 813 820 3010, +234 803 393 1229.”Speaking with SaharaReporters, the Secretary of the forum, Ademiluyi explained further: “It is a forum of lawyers within the jurisdiction of Eti-Osa and this particular building, Gerrard Road Ikoyi falls within Eti-Osa jurisdiction so as concerned lawyers, we decided to set up a situation room for families of deceased, injured and yet to be recovered people because there are still dozens of people underground. ”A panel has already been constituted by the government and from media sources, they are sitting at Lagos State Water Waste Authority, Falomo opposite the MTN building. “Tomorrow, some of our lawyers will be going to that panel to go and confirm the venue, confirm the procedure and according to media, they started sitting on Friday, tomorrow will be the second time, they have thirty days to sit. “That is just bulletin 1, another bulletin will soon be out because we just have to come out and play our historical role, it’s clear that they want to hide the identity of the owner of that property. “What we are saying is that the panel should issue a summons on the Surveyor-General who is the custodian of all the C of O to come and explain who is the real owner of the property.”

This was confirmed on Sunday by the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State chapter, John Hayab.

They are currently in the hospital, SaharaReporters learnt.
He told journalists, “The lives of Kaduna abducted worshippers are in danger and require the urgent intervention of government and security agencies.
“The insecurity in Kaduna state has continued to grow beyond our imagination and is threatening the peace of the nation.
“CAN Kaduna State is appealing to well-meaning individuals, organisations, those in authority, especially the federal government and the international community to come to our rescue.

E2%80%94collation-officer-orumba-north-council-area Anambra Election: I Signed Result Under Duress—Collation Officer For Orumba North Council Area

Michael Otu, the collation officer for Orumba North local government area of Anambra State in Saturday’s election has claimed he signed the election result under duress, refusing to read out the result.
He further accused officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) attached to him of conniving with those who disrupted the electoral process.

He said his experience on the field was pathetic but “I thank God I’m alive. I signed the results, but I didn’t believe in the results”.
“An INEC staff, Assistant Collation Officer, turned me to her house boy. I was monitored around, I signed the result because I saw my life was in danger,” he added.
He further claimed he was tear-gassed and almost collapsed.
Florence Obi, the state returning officer, asked Otu to produce the results, but he insisted he did not believe in the result.
Obi, the returning officer for the state, therefore called on the electoral officer accused by Otu to clear the air on the allegations against him.
The accused officer noted, “He has never had the experience of how to collate results. He does not know the difference between conducting elections and collation. When collation officers finished their work, this man spent two hours on each. This man does not know his left from the right.”
Obi, the returning officer for the state, stated that the Orumba North LGA is the only local government area she got a distressed call from during the election.
“I had to call the commissioner of police that the life of my staff (member) was in danger,” she said.
She then collected the documents from Otu, and asked him to go. The results were not read out by Otu
Victor Umeh, the agent representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) accused the collation officer of being “hired to destroy this election.”
He said his party won the election in the council area.
He further said Otu’s account had no basis.

E2%80%94-collation-officer Anambra Poll: How Election Didn’t Hold In Ihiala Local Council Area — Collation Officer

The collation officer for the Ihiala local government area of Anambra State, Ahmadu Umar has claimed there was no election in the area.
Umar stated this on Sunday while making a presentation after the result for Aguata local government area was declared. He, however, did not state why there was no election in Ihiala.

He said there are 148,407 registered voters in the LGA, adding that election didn’t take place in Ihiala.
There was a delay in the conduct of the Anambra State governorship election in the local government area of the state.
According to Vanguard, as of 1 pm on Saturday, election materials had yet to arrive in the local government area despite having 20 electoral wards.
It was learnt that anxious voters in the various polling units arrived early but were disappointed with the non-arrival of materials.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Don Adinuba, attributed the ugly development to logistical problems.
SaharaReporters had also reported the malfunctioning of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Bimodal System machines, BIVAS as well as the tense security situation on Saturday, which affected the turnout and smooth flow of the election.

*-apostle-johnson-suleman-%E2%80%94-nollywood-actress Why I Confessed To Having S** With Apostle Johnson Suleman — Nollywood Actress

A Nollywood actress and human rights activist, Chioma Ifemeludike has explained why she opened up on her alleged sexual affair with the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman.
According to her, the confession was necessitated by the need to renew her repentance, her walk with Christ, her new life, and the resolution to be a better person in Christ Jesus.

In an interview with Daily Sun, she further said as an activist, she is not meant to protect an oppressor.
She was quoted as saying, “I did it (confessed) because of my repentance, my walk with Christ, my new life, and my resolution to be a better person in Christ Jesus. Secondly, I’m an activist and I work with the community.
“There are people out there who are working hard to make sure that oppressors are being thoroughly dealt with. So, if a man of God becomes oppressive and the people he is fighting are the same people in my community, the same colleagues, it’s not something you sit on, it’s not something you ignore.
“How do you think people will see me if I ignore it? How do you think that would make me look? What would be the reason for being quiet about such a thing that I know about this man, even when it affects me directly?
“So, it didn’t come out of a desire to destroy anybody, it came out as a warning to people who feel that when they do things, it’s concealed and they become so big, and that people are not going to be courageous enough to come out and say the truth.
“I have no iota of regret, not even one. In fact, I feel so great. A lot of great things have been happening to me from the day I made that confession. It’s been a life-changing experience. So, why should I regret it? I did it because of my God and service to humanity. It cost me a lot, but it’s always at a cost that something new and good would happen. It’s always at a cost, a very sacrificial cost. So, yes, I did it, and I’m proud of it. I own it and I don’t regret it.”

How Apostle Suleman Slept With Me Twice, Gave Me N500,000 – Nollywood Actress, Ifemeludike

The actress-cum-producer, who has been in the Nollywood industry for nine years, revealed that she had no idea that the cleric was quite prominent at the time she allegedly had an intercourse with him.
She recalled that the first deal of her encounter of romp s** with the man of God was sealed through a hookup by another lady, Linda Clems, noting that the second time, she clearly recognised him because they exchanged numbers during the first romp and communicated thereafter.
In the interview, Ifemeludike also spoke about her pains, regrets, marriage plans and why she actually did what she claimed she did.
Speaking on how life had treated her since the confession, the actress said, “Life has been great. Even though, in the first few days after the confession that went viral, the backlash kind of affected my mental health. But because I’m this kind of person who looks on to God and not man, I’ve always been very attached to God, so it wasn’t difficult for me to find my feet spiritually, mentally and physically.
“Yes, things were tough for some days but over time, I had to deal with the situation in my head. And as the days went by, I was motivated and became stronger.”
Speaking on her reception by her colleagues in the movie industry, she said, “I am not holding anything against them. People have their personal beliefs, faiths, decisions and characters, because we came from different homes and areas of life. People know what they know. People are people, so I don’t blame them.
“That’s how they felt and it’s their way of expressing what they felt. I didn’t even expect it because when you expect something, you could get disappointed. I knew that I was not going to get support from Nollywood, and that if I did, it’s going to be very few people who are going to say, ‘Oh… I know Chioma, she did this and I think it’s worth it’.
“But I wasn’t surprised at all and I don’t hold anything against anybody, nothing! I totally understand their position and like I told one of them, ‘what I did was bigger than anybody, and anyone who feels bad about it, I’ll let them. But with time everyone will understand.’”
On whether she was truly trying to extort money from Suleman as alleged in some quarters, the actress stated, “That’s laughable. The people who know me know that money does not freak me. What freaks me is character. Money and power do not move me. I need money but money is not everything. There’s a way I see life and there are things I value more than money. Extort who?
“How much is he going to give me? Do you know the guilt I carried all these years for something that I did? I knew that I did it out of desperation; I did it because I wasn’t acting right. So, fast-forward to today, I’m dealing with the guilt and I come out to spill it and people say I want to extort the person? I don’t know how it works but even if they bring one billion dollars, I can’t be moved.
”The truth is the truth. It’s a fact, it’s bigger than me, the universe has taken record and there is something bigger than the universe, something bigger than money and something that puts us here.
“We must always think beyond that. The day the world was created, the day everything you see was put together, money was not in the concept. Man conceptualised money and so, why would I want to do anything of that magnitude because of money? No, that’s totally wrong.
“I never did it to extort money from anybody; it’s just for my faith. So, children of God, I did it for my society and that’s what will matter for decades; for centuries, that’s what will count, not money.
“The first money was N250,000 and it was split because it was Linda Clems that gave that part to me. The second was the one he (Apostle Suleman) gave me directly and that was N300,000. So, it’s a total of N550,000.
“I can give the money back to him, to his (church) members or to the society, but I need to be sure that it’s the right thing to do. So, that’s not a big deal. If that will help for the evil done, the evil of adultery with a man of God, if that is going to help for God to have mercy, why not? I’ll gladly do it.”
On the reaction of her fiancé to her confession, she noted, “My fiancé was quite supportive because he was the first person I confessed to; I told him everything and many more.
“He’s been in the picture even before I got baptized, he knows my spiritual life; he knows my relationship with God. So, when it was time, I told him. I said, ‘this is what happened and I’m sorry. If you don’t want to continue the relationship, that’s okay’ and he said ‘no, I love that you are bold enough to tell me this. I want you to make it public, I can’t keep it down anymore’.
“And I said, ‘fine, if that’s what’s going to help you, then who am I not to do it?’ So, my fiancé was very supportive, and thanks to him that I pulled through strongly. However, my family was tough, the calls and questions like ‘how can you do this?’ came up; everyone was angry. But I thank God for our spiritual leader who told them that it was good that I confessed. He said it might not be good for man but it’s good for God as He approves of it.”

How Operatives Of Our Eastern Security Network Operatives Repelled Attack By Herdsmen In Enugu —IPOB

File photo used to illustrate story.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has alleged that some killer Fulani herdsmen were prevented from attacking some communities in Enugu on Saturday.
The group stated that while governorship election was going on in Anambra state, the assailants invaded undisclosed Enugu communities.

File photo used to illustrate story.

It, however, added that its militant wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) foiled the attacks.
This was revealed in a statement by the spokesman for the group, Emma Powerful, which was made available to SaharaReporters on Sunday.
In the statement titled, “While Anambra Election Was Going, On Jihadists Came to Attack Biafra Communities In Enugu But Were Repelled By ESN – IPOB,” the group vowed not to allow criminals to attack any area in the South-East.
The statement read, “We are the Indigenous People of Biafra under the command and leadership of our liberator and prophet Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We wish to reiterate that the mandate of Eastern Security Network, ESN is to pursue fulani terrorists, bandits and killer herdsmen hiding in the bushes and forests of Biafraland.
“ESN was created to ensure these blood suckers are not allowed any breeding space in Biafra land. This security outfit has been living up to its responsibility, and Biafrans home and in the Diaspora are very proud of our gallant men and women serving in ESN.
“The enemies and their sponsors thought they could take us unawares but unfortunately for them our gallant ESN operatives keep vigil over the entire Biafra land 24 hours.
“While election in Anambra State was going on, the enemies deployed terrorists disguising as herdsmen to Enugu State to attack unsuspecting Biafrans but the vigilance of our ESN operatives paid off as these agents of death and sorrow were repelled.
“No matter how hard they try we will not allow any inch of Biafra land to be invaded by terrorists again. Never again shall ESN and IPOB allow Biafran women and girls to be raped by uncircumcised terrorists. We shall continue to defend our ancestral land no matter the price!
“We warn the sponsors of these jihadists and their foot soldiers to stop wasting their time because no part of Biafra land will be occupied by terrorists.
“We again call on the Fulani-controlled Federal Government of Nigeria to organise a  referendum for Biafra people to decide on whether or not they want to continue to belong to Nigeria or have their own country. The forced marriage by Britain can no longer work.
“Biafrans are tired of staying together with mass murderers. We can’t continue to live in a country where the lives of our people have no values. We will no longer belong to a country where cows are valued above human lives. We want to stay on our own where we can guarantee the lives and safety of our people.
“We assure Biafrans that ESN operatives will continue to stand on the watch tower since the hypocritical Nigerian security agents have refused to protect our people against Fulani killer squad masquerading as herdsmen.”

E2%80%98looked-other-way%E2%80%99-massive-vote-buying-marred-anambra-poll-%E2%80%94election Police Officers ‘Looked The Other Way’ As Massive Vote-Buying Marred Anambra Poll —Election Observer Group

File photo used to illustrate story.

The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) has alleged that there was widespread vote-buying by political parties during the Anambra State governorship election which was held on Saturday.
This was made known by the CDD’s Director of Research, Sa’eed Usaini who claimed that most of the electoral crimes were committed as compromised security operatives looked the other way.

File photo used to illustrate story.

“We have also noted widespread incidence of vote-buying that will likely negatively impact the credibility of the election result.
“CDD observers reported numerous not so discreet cases of ‘see and buy’ in polling units across the 21 LGAs of the state.
“In many reported cases, police officers have been alleged to have looked the other way likely as a result of having themselves been compromised.”
He also noted that the technical issues arising from the use Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) threatens the quality of the election outcome.
The CDD Director said in several cases, the BVAS failed to recognise voters’ faces and fingerprints, and those affected were asked to wait until the challenge was resolved.
This is even as he noted that CDD observers reported that malfunctioning of the BVAS in Ayamelum Local Government Area with three polling units affected.
According to him, INEC resorted to the use of manual methods of accreditation and voting in some polling units in Akwa South, Awka North, Idemili North, Idemili South, and Anambra West local government areas of the state.

Assailants Hack Popular Radio Presenter, Itiat Zion To Death In Calabar

Itiat Zion, a popular Efik Master of Ceremonies and radio presenter has been hacked to death by assailants in Calabar, Cross River State.
The deceased was said to have anchored major Efik traditional marriages among other events where he entertained his audience.

According to Cross River Watch, the young man was standing close to a popular hotel located along the Murtala Mohammed Highway, waiting to get a vehicle back home, when his assailants came out of a vehicle and butchered him.
A source was quoted as saying, “The boys just came out from a vehicle and butchered him to death.”
One of his colleagues who is also a popular Efik MC, Koko Dear, said Zion’s death may have happened as a result of mistaken identity.
He also said he was the one who went to deposit his corpse in the morgue.
Together with Koko Dear, Itiat Zion with others presented a popular Efik programme, “Uwem Ye Ido” on FAD 93.1 FM Calabar.
When SaharaReporters called the state police public relations officer, Irene Ugbo, she said, “We are yet to get the full details but I think they alleged that the vigilante in that area was pursuing an armed robber and he (the victim) came out. The story is not too clear. We will have to get more details. We got the allegations that someone was killed. I have reached out to the Anti-Kidnapping unit and they said they were called that someone was killed, I think he was stabbed but its not clear if it was the vigilante that stabbed Zion or the armed robbers they were pursuing. The story is not clear. We are yet to get more details from it.”
