Federal University Otuoke Rushes To Appoint Unqualified Candidate As Vice-chancellor, By Ejike Mokolobia

In an inexplicable rush to appoint an unqualified candidate as Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State has lowered the qualification bar to accommodate a ‘son of the soil’ Dr. Teddy Charles Adias who happens to be the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Dr. Adias’s Record of Service (copy attached) shows that he entered the service of the Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State on 1st October, 2014 and was appointed a professor on entry. Prior to that, according to his Curriculum Vitae (copy attached) he was Provost of the Bayelsa State College of Health Technology (BYCOHTECH), Otuogidi, established in 2005, from 2008 to 2015; Visting Reader, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, 2013 – 2014, Senior Lecturer (Adjunct), Madonna University, Elele, Rivers State  2007 – 2011, Part-Time Lecturer, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, 2001-2010.
From the foregoing, it is clear that Dr. Adias’s FIRST appointment as a FULL-TIME Lecturer in any university was on 1st October, 2014 as a professor at NDU where he served for about 1 year before transferring to Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State in November, 2016.
The fact of the matter is, as of today, Dr. Adias has only held a FULL-TIME lectureship or professorship position in any university for a total period of 5 years including 4 years spent at Federal University Otuoke where none of the programmes he studied for his degrees –  Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science, Master of Science in Medical Microbiology and PhD in Immuno-Haematology is offered to students.
It is pertinent to note, also, that Dr. Adias did not attend any tertiary institution or university as a FULL-TIME student since during the period he obtained his academic degrees at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (1990-2006) he was on active military service with the Nigerian Navy (1988-2000) or employed as a Clinical Scientist at Nigerian Agip Oil Company, Port Harcourt (2000-2008).

Although Nigerian Federal universities are empowered by law to appoint their Vice-Chancellors, guidelines from the Federal Ministry of Education (copy attached), which represents the President of Nigeria, the Visitor to the universities, specifies that a candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor must have been a professor for at least 10 years. Federal universities have conventionally complied with this requirement.
However, Federal University, Otuoke has lowered the bar to a period of 5 years post professorship qualification for the position of Vice-Chancellor (copy of advert attached) specifically to accommodate Dr. Adias’s inadequacy, in clear contravention of government guidelines and convention in Federal universities.
The university is doing so  in spite of the fact that Dr. Adias’s arrival 4 years ago, and his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor by Professor Seth Accra Jaja, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor a year later, has brought nothing but strife and chaos to the young university; a situation that has divided staff into feuding cliques and engendered cult activities among students. Presently, there are more than 15 court cases brought against the university by its staff.
More so, Dr. Adia’s 8-year tenure as Provost of BYCOHTECH during which time the college’s programmes were never accredited calls into serious question his competence as an administrator.
In order to arrest further deterioration of academic and social activities in Federal University, Otuoke, the Federal government must not allow the appointment of such a patently unqualified candidate as Vice-Chancellor over better qualified candidates.

E2%80%99s-concession-speech-rudolf-okonkwo President Donald J. Trump’s Concession Speech, By Rudolf Okonkwo

Fellow Americans,
Nobody knows the joy of winning better than I do, believe me. I have always been a winner for as long as I can remember. Okay? Nobody knows the beauty of fighting to win better than I do. I am always a fighter and when I fight, I win.  Everybody knows that.
I have reached the very top. Absolutely. And I reached the top at a very tremendous speed. You all know it. The first time I ran for office, I ran for president. It was beautiful. Right? What usually takes great men three attempts before they get a win, I won in a landslide the very first time I ran. I heard that it has never been done anywhere else in the world.
In the last four years, I have accomplished for America things that presidents that were in office for twelve years did not accomplish. It is not even close. I made America a big-league winner again. I put billions and billions of dollars into your pockets through my amazing tax cuts. I have shown you that everything is possible if you have the right man to do the right job. Everybody is saying so.
All over the world, there is huge respect for America again, in some cases, even massive fear. Bigly! Which is good. I made it happen. Nobody messes with America because I highly insisted on it. I placed America first, which is fair. I stopped those out of control dope and overrated countries that get away with murder at the expense of America. It didn’t happen again. Not on my watch! I was tough so that America would be triumphant.

The world had never seen anything like that before.
Because of me, the next generation of Americans will grow up knowing that America is the greatest nation on earth, full of courageous men like me. Thanks to me, they will grow up knowing that ours is a Christian nation where it is allowed to say Merry Christmas. Our children and grandchildren will grow up knowing that the whole world is out there for them to dominate and not bow to the sissies who think that we must worship the environment at the expense of the staggering economy that I built.
Frankly, I have done everything that I set out to do – most of which were things that have never been done before. I have in place the greatest military that humans ever assembled for our incredible men and women in uniform. I assembled it in just four years by rebuilding our powerful military that they destroyed due to neglect and incompetence. I secured America from coast to coast with walls and wires, cages and visa bans. I took care of it, just as I promised I would do. I returned America under God. Before I came, they had taken America to the shrines of the devil.
Americans love me because of these outstanding accomplishments. I have seen it on the faces of fabulous Americans while I travelled around the country in the last few weeks.
To be perfectly honest, I could stay around and fight. And it is a fight that I know that I will win. But I have decided not to. There is no point.
I believe that I have nothing else left to prove. My achievements will be around till the end of time. I won’t be surprised if, by January 20, 2021, my face would go up on Mount Rushmore to join other presidents of my calibre. It won’t surprise me one bit. People think it is going to happen.
To all my special supporters, I say thank you for the unbelievable fantastic ride. Don’t despair, for I will send you a brilliant comforter. Those stupid little lightweights on the other side who have no clue may taunt you. When those clowns do, remind the goofy and crooked losers that I made America great again. Tell those terrible lowlifes that they have proved themselves unworthy of Donald Trump’s genius and have opted to reduce America to a Second Class nation in the world. Total Disaster!
So, my fellow American, I bide you all farewell.  May God bless you, and my God bless the United States of America.
Yours truly,
President Donald J. Trump
The 45th President of the United States.

Ex-Nigerian Attorney-General, Aondoakaa, Lies About Being Contracted By CBN To Secure Court Order To Freeze EndSARS Supporters’ Bank Accounts Despite Evidence

Notorious Michael Aondoakaa

Despite court documents showing how the Central Bank of Nigeria hired his services to help freeze the bank accounts of alleged #EndSARS promoters, Michael Aondoakaa, a former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, has denied being briefed on the issue.
CBN obtained the court order to freeze the accounts of 19 individuals and Gatefield, a public affairs company linked to the #EndSARS protests, till January 2021.

“CBN did not brief Micheal Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN) to freeze the accounts of EndSARS members. Secondly, he is not in a position to know the membership of EndSARS because he never received any instructions from CBN relating to EndSARS members.
“All the documents filed at Federal High Court, Abuja, in respect of the case are public documents which can be verified or obtained. CBN cannot engage Aondoakaa verbally,” a statement by Aondoakaa’s Head of Chambers, Abdul Ter Kohol, read.
But the court order sent to Gatefield, seen by SaharaReporters, punctured Aondoakaa’s lies as his name was boldly written on the document by the judge granting it, Mohammed A.R.
“After hearing Chief Michael Kaase Aondokaa (SAN) with Abdul T Kohol, Aondowase Jacob Opea and Matthew Onoja of counsel for the applicant move in terms of the motion paper, a mandatory order empowering the plaintiff/applicant to direct the head office of Access Bank of Nigeria PLC to freeze forthwith all transactions on the account of the defendant for a period of 90 days pending the outcome of investigation and inquiry currently being conducted by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
“It is, however, directed that the 90 days freezing order, when it lapsed, may be renewed upon good cause shown by the applicant,” part of the document read.

REVEALED: How CBN Employed Disgraced Ex-AGF To Freeze Bank Accounts Of Alleged #EndSARS Promoters After Several Lawyers Declined Brief

Aondoakaa is not new to controversies – during his time as Nigeria’s AGF and Minister of Justice, he showed a high disregard for the law of the country.
It got troubling in 2010 when the Legal Privileges Committee in 2010 suspended him from using the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria for two years following a petition by the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights and a ruling by a Calabar Federal High Court on June 1, 2010, that he was unfit to hold the office of the Attorney-General or any public office in Nigeria.
Aondoakaa was also notorious for his brash support of the government and his defence of corrupt former governor of Delta State, James Ibori.
As Nigeria’s AGF, he did everything to block the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from prosecuting Ibori and other corrupt officials.
He also declined the request by the London Metropolitan Police to allow officials of the EFCC to stand as prosecuting witness against Ibori.
The 58-year-old was in 2010 barred from entering the United States over links to massive corruption during his two and half years in office.

Lekki Massacre Must Be Independently Investigated Considering Sanwo-Olu’s Complicity, RULAAC Says

Okechukwu Nwanguma, Executive Director of Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre, has called for an independent investigation into the shooting of #ENDSARS protesters by soldiers at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, on October 20, 2020.
Nwanguma said the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State Government cannot initiate an investigation into the shooting considering the complicity of the government in the incident.

He said, “I already made the point elsewhere that considering the apparent complicity of the Lagos State governor in the Lekki massacre, that subject matter can no longer be part of the terms of reference or issues to be inquired into by the judicial panel of inquiry set up by the governor.
“The Lekki massacre must be independently, transparently, impartially and effectively investigated to unravel the truth and ensure justice.”
The RULAAC boss also slammed the Nigerian Government for the continued clampdown on protesters despite the investigation going on by states’ judicial panel of inquiries.
He condemned the freezing of bank accounts and arrests of some protesters by security operatives from their homes.
He stated that the Nigerian Government had never been sincere in its commitment to dialogue with the #EndSARS protesters.
Nwanguma said, “It has always been their usual ways of deceit: pretend to be committed to dialogue but planning mischief.
“How can you set up a panel to look into the issues raised by #EndSARS protesters and the aftermaths of the protests; you also have members of the group represented in the panel, yet you go ahead to freeze their bank accounts.
“That is the true nature and character of this government. Deceit, insincerity, lip service to everything, treachery and incompetence.
“This was exactly why the protesters took all the promises by the government with a pinch of salt and insisted on seeing concrete action before they would back down. Then the government deployed deadly violence to suppress the protests.”
Nwanguma added that looking at “the contradictions, the initial denials, then admission and then the buck-passing between the army and the Lagos State Government over who ordered the military deployment to the toll gate”, it shows the cowardice, insensitivity and cluelessness of some of the government appointees.
SaharaReporters had reported how the Central Bank of Nigeria secured a court order to freeze the bank accounts of 20 protesters for 90 days.
The court order was obtained while state governments had set up panels of inquiry to look into the case of extrajudicial killings and brutality by the police, especially the scrapped Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the police.
The CBN had hired the services of Michael Aondoakaa, a disgraced former Attorney-General of the country, who showed a high disregard for the law during his time in office, to help freeze the bank accounts of the protesters.
SaharaReporters gathered that the former AGF was contacted by the CBN for the job after several lawyers initially reached for the same purpose declined the brief.

The victims, it was gathered, included some market women, farmers, traders, and civil servants travelling for different functions in the state.

They were waylaid and abducted by the gunmen on Thursday evening at a failed portion of the Ogbese area of the Akure Owo Road.

He said, “We have been able to identify one of the two persons we rescued as Alhaji Daramola, who is also a farmer from Isua Akoko Local Government Area of Ondo.

#EndSARS: It’s Time For #StreetToStreet Protests By Kunle Ogba

One lesson from the soccer parlance is widening the passes when the opposing team is too defensive and deadly in tackles. Every efforts at beating the crude opponents must be wide, creative, and disciplined.
Crude teams lack these techniques but believe in choking and shock attacks: a complete trait of the current rulers as their stings of repressions are crude and brute.
The IG came on air to declare war on protests; on fundamental human rights that actually brought in the Buhari regime. The IGP Adamu declarations of war and the Army’s affidavit of lies at the Lagos Judicial Panel show that the regime is out defend it’s class, by every wicked card.

So, while we have the army of youths and workers enough time to recoup under an economy of self help for the millions, organizers and mobilizers need to widen the bases of protests as well as the barricades.
Already in Lagos for the last five days of the Great #EndSARS Revolt, about 1,123 barricades were mounted with about 500 Rallying points. So, what is needed is for us to now publicly and openly expand the frontiers of the protests and care massively for it’s quality and sustenance, even if constantly periodically.
We have expanded the Demands already while we have also started the intellectual political engagements. We must transform all these concretely by getting our Street propaganda to work.
The #RevolutionNow FactSheet becomes expedient here.
In all, this phase of the struggle should be tagged, as suggested by comrades at an informal meeting this morning and also in phone chats with GK and other Comrades, as #WoroSiWoro; #StreetToStreet Mass mobilizations and Protests for #EndBadGovernance #EndPoliceBrutality #RevolutionNow!
#SoroSoke!!

A civil society organisation, Centre for Liberty, has condemned the arrest of a citizen journalist, Oluwatosin Adeniji, and five #EndSARS protesters by policemen in Abuja.
SaharaReporters recall that Adeniji and the protesters were arrested in front of the National Assembly complex on Friday.
The group in a statement by Ariyo-Dare Atoye, Deji Adeyanju and Adebayo Raphael, its conveners, described the arrest as illegal.

It demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested by the police.

EXPOSED: How Abuja Judge Illegally Met Police Hierarchy, Signed Prison Remand Order Of EndSARS Protesters From Home

The statement reads, “On Friday, November 6, 2020, we received reports of how six peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the National Assembly in Abuja namely Oluwatosin Adeniji, Paul Akinwumi, Davo Chom, Abdulsalam Zuberu, Kabiru Gasali and one other were illegally arrested by the police and subsequently taken to court without any charge levelled against them, and then remanded in Suleja Prison till January 25, 2021 by a magistrate known as Abdulrazak Eneye.
“We note with utmost disturbance how this hurriedly executed anomaly reeks of an unholy alliance between the court which is meant to be the last hope of the common man, and the Nigerian Police from whom the Nigerian People have been demanding more accountability and professionalism in the last four weeks.
“We equally note how this development follows the seizure of the traveling passport of at least one of the relief coordinators for the peaceful #EndSARS protests that happened across the country recently, and the freezing of the Bank Accounts of no less than 19 individuals and a public affairs company linked to the protests. As if those weren’t bad enough, another peaceful protester in Lagos, Eromosele Adene, was recklessly whisked away by members of the Nigeria Police on November 7, 2020 in broad daylight, after harassing his mother and sister in their home in Lagos State.

“Needless to say that these GESTAPO-style operations are unbefitting of a democratic country. They at once suggest that Nigeria’s democracy has been replaced by unbridled tyranny that could plunge our country into an abyss of chaos and disorder. This pattern also concretizes suspicions across the country that the Nigerian Government is bent on shrinking our civic space and criminalizing constitutionally-guaranteed rights of citizens to freely express themselves and assemble peacefully.
“We are, therefore, unequivocal in our demand that all arrested protesters including those mentioned above be released immediately, and the travel passports seized from #EndSARS activists be immediately released, and an unreserved apology be made to them by the Nigeria Police and the Nigerian Government. Similarly, all bank accounts that have been frozen or deactivated due to their owners’ participation in the protests must immediately be reactivated.
“In conclusion, we strongly urge the Nigerian judiciary to be circumspect of politicians who intend to use its hallowed institutions to carry out nefarious political agenda and ruin the sanctity of our democracy. Before it is too late, the Nigerian Government must retrace its steps and remember that democracy thrives when all arms of government function to serve the people without limitations.”
Oluwatosin Adeniji was earlier taken to Police FCID In Abuja and beaten for asking for her lawyer before writing a statement. #FreeTosinAdeniji #FreePress #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigera #EndBadGovernanceinNIGERIA #RevolutionNow— Sahara Reporters (@SaharaReporters) November 6, 2020

E2%80%99s-bad-weather-gbenro-olajuyigbe Is Trump America’s Bad Weather? By Gbenro Olajuyigbe

Gbenro Olajuyigbe

History is about the past but it moves into future faster than those who make them. It gets into the future the makers can only imagine! Waves of future is easy to hazard guessed if steps of present waves makers are marked. History moves toward ultimate triumph to make villain or victor out of its makers! As America moves away from Trump’s era to Biden’s time, it’s nice to interrogate the crisis of governance in a supposedly sanctuary of modern democracy and civilization. It is apt to juxtapose Trump’s policies with age long culture of governance that have become the American  spirit as well as whether Trump realize that he leads in an environment that it’s not safe to err!
Donald Trump, President of United States is a ferocious protectionist and a wave maker, a history maker too! – powerful force breaker who chose to stand on the way of the Train of climate change, a pugilist in a boxing ring with virus! He is a man of immerse power with lesser wisdom to triangulate in respect of Earth, Climate and Virus! No matter, the origin, viruses and their mutations are climate related. COVID-19 cannot be an exemption.
However, it is expected that a person rich in arrogance but poor in tolerance will find triangulation of such proportion difficult no matter how simplified!
The Climate Change, denied yesterday, bred or filliped the virus of today. We may do all we can to get laboratory certified and ethic approved vaccine for COVID-19, more are still loaded in the cloud of  climate we have burnt to ashes. The lid of protection, even from virulent virus has been removed.

Gbenro Olajuyigbe

The earth is boiling! The world is becoming too hot to live in. Climate catalyzed death; diseases and disaster are obvious indicators that the earth is slipping off our hands. The streams of conflict and crises are now having violated climate as their origins of flows. We are frying the air and drying the waters; opportunities for safe life and secure livelihoods especially in developing states are up in flames. Increasingly, large number of famers in Sub – Sahara Africa is vulnerable to oscillation of weather and climate with dire consequence for yields, output and income. The harder they work, the poorer they become. On the side of the prosperous North countries, economic considerations are overtaking the thought for humanity and potential generations that will inhabit the earth. Industrialization and industrial complexes are wreaking havoc on the ozone layer. The South is paying for what the North bought. Like other countries of the North, America is a Climate Debtor! Debt, she must pay!
Arguably, climate change aside from being the salient driver of resource drought and ubiquitous mobile violence in Africa, it is also a vicarious driver of inequality between the North and South.
In human history, threats to Security have never been this massive and fatal. Nowhere in the world is spared of the intrusion of fear and terror precipitated by advancing natural and climate related emergencies. The Political, economic and social contexts that tilt the balance against the majority that are poor and being continually impoverished has climate conditioned issues. Livelihood concern is one of these. This excludes people from issues and governance and invariably reinforces vulnerabilities. This should be issues of concern to the states of the world, including the United States.
The need to refocus global development led to Sustainable Development Goals’ agenda, which is expected to ensure that no one is left behind in the race to better our world. What happen to Climate and the overall global environment will determine how far we will go with the race. The emerging contexts of climatic topsy-turvy that often set space for conflicts, terror and emergencies cannot be fully understood and tackled without appreciating the need for climate justice. America, a major contributor to the depletion of Ozone Layer as well as a major victim of its consequence through terror violence, is germane to realizing the green world’s objectives of the Paris Deal. Majority of the poor in the South that are engaged in weather dependent occupations like agriculture, fishery among others that are susceptible to the vagaries of Climate even though their carbon footprint is faint. If their adaptation is not taken along, it will be fool hardy for Trump to think he can safe America against forced migrants who will employ irregular migration as the response strategy to address their own vulnerability. Climate change has been inducing disaster, diseases and death, all that have severe implications for global peace and development. Hence, the need to work together to manage the risk of climate change should be at the front burner of the global agenda.
If nothing is done to stop the cooks, whose works have left Ozone Layer in flame, human beauty is bound to turn to aches! The 2015 Paris Agreement was put in place as remedy for the global climate catastrophe. The deal sealed in Paris, France within the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was to address greenhouse gas emission; focusing on mitigation, adaptation and finance. The deal was to prevent or at least, mitigate the acts of the global giants from creating a hellish world, to safe the weak from the giants through adaptation and making ‘climate criminals’ pay for the damages caused. The deal was to tilt the world toward restitution, reparation and restoration. A form of justice! Climate Justice! One hundred and ninety five (195) countries including the United States negotiated this agreement on December 12, 2015 at the 21st Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC in Paris. The agreement stretches demonstrable understanding of climate change and consequence on the globe, economies and states; effects and impact on every aspect of lives of the vulnerable people and communities. How the phenomenon is capable of producing stress generates shocks and reinforces inequality. It recognized the need to protect the vulnerable and strengthen their resilience through adaptation.
America is a major and critical stakeholder in mitigating disaster that cannot be prevented. It’s a climate predator as well as a copious emitter of carbon. It has moral obligation and duty to redeem the earth it has shrunk with others through its activities. The sauna and the fauna she has joined hands together with others to extinguish must be restored. Nobody wants to live on America as President Trump claimed. We want to live on earth together. The renewal option of fulfilling this is to restore its lost value and grace. Paris Deed is a way to achieve this. We cannot negotiate redemption and remediation of the earth and atmosphere on America’s terms. A just world is imperative to the prosperity of America. Climate Justice built on Paris Agreement is one way of bringing this into fruition. People from California, from Texas and other parts of America understand this, even with a President with tragic notion of common humanity! Trump’s chloroquine is the bitter pill America has swallowed for four years to cure her ‘virus’. The viral load is still heavy. Climate of racial chaos and decimation of global concept of mankind are hitching hunch on America’s back. Trump’s attack on global climate risk reduction initiative was a globalized tragedy. It lacked imagination of future of a world on edge of peril. That tragic day that Trump used pen of policy to thwart over a decade effort of the rest of the word on climate justice, he became a fugitive in power. His contributions to economic growth no longer count to the Americans. He became a bad weather they could no longer endure!

C3%A8m%C3%AD-oy%C3%A8yem%C3%AD The “Goddess” Called Kamala By Rèmí Oyèyemí

The author, Remi Oyeyemi

She was my first love. My first choice when it all began. Of all the contestants that came out to run for the Presidency of the United States, she impressed me most. Looking into her eyes, it was easier to see the sparkle. The gleam of the dream was gleanable. The hope for a new day was palpable. Her heart of gold shined through. The ideal she wanted to bring to fruition was undeniably unambiguous. She wanted to be a Queen in a democracy. A philosopher Queen at that.
I could feel the heat of the inferno raging in her belly. I could fathom the thorns she has torn to tatters. I could sense her solidity of purpose. Her body language was patently clear. It was lazed with no iota of equivocation. Clearly, her single-mindedness was not muddled in any manner. She came across as the harbinger of hope to the hopeless. A portent voice for the voiceless. By any stretch of imagination, she did not suggest herself as a saviour, but it was obvious she is on our side, and would fight for us.
It was easier to imagine the battles she had prosecuted. The political wars that she has waged. The legal fisticuffs she has fought.  The valleys she has traversed, navigating the squirming slinks, skunks and and snakes. The mountains, milling with marauding and mauling mammals, she has peregrinated. The invisible scars were palpably discernible. She had been toughened and tempered.

The author, Remi Oyeyemi.

Evidently, an Amazon with an attenuating beauty. A warrior propelled by love and empathy. Her weapons have always been knowledge, intellect, courage, fearlessness and determination permeated with kindness. Her beauty and elegance are outward manifestation of her inner allure and refinement. With her cultured, measured and regal carriage, it was possible to take her for a “softie.” And that kind of perfunctory presumption would be prodigiously perilous for any protagonist.
Her charm is powerful enough to cream or crease anyone, depending on if one is a foe or friend. Her glamour magnetizes magnificently. Her pizazz pierces like a pin. Attired in a tapestry of titillating talisman, she couldn’t but tilt your attention to herself, her commitment, dedication and sincerity. She is a mother. She cares. She wants to make things right. That is her dream.
In 1990, Kamala was hired as a deputy district attorney in Oakland,  Alameda County, California. On her first day in Court, she announced her appearance as lawyers always do, as follows:
“Kamala Harris, for the people.”
Yes, Kamala has always been for the people. She has never been off track since then. In all her politics and policies, the departure point has always been the people. She believes in tough love. She advocates the principle of personal responsibility. She doesn’t joke with accountability. An attitude that had caused political headache for her some of the times. But she has always been able to weather the storms.
She is an aficionado of freedom. A devotee of democracy. A connoisseur of constitutionality. A cognoscente of the court. An exponent of equity. An advocate of fairness. A promoter of balance. A champion of children. A bulwark for women. A guard for the weak. A shield for the vulnerable. A paladin for the aged. Yes, Kamala is for the people. Uncompromisingly. Incorrigibly. Incurably. She is blatant about it. She is brassy about it. And she is brazen about it.
She is confident. Self-assured. She is determined, decisive and dogged. Her outward dazzling cocoons her resolve and resoluteness. The kindness of her heart is steeled in the strength of her conviction. Clear-headed and clear-eyed. Panoramic. Decent and decorous. Cultivated and civilised. Steady and sturdy. Brilliant and bold. Beautiful and beautiful!
A lady of many firsts. She is a trailblazer in her own right. She has kept on shattering Hillary Clinton’s proverbial glass roof with which women were held at bay.
(i) She established the first Bureau of Children’s Justice in California
(ii) She is the first African American elected as the District Attorney of the City of San Fransisco.
(iii) She is the first woman elected as the District Attorney of the City of San Francisco.
(iv) She is the first African American to be elected as the Attorney General of the State of California.
(v) She is the first woman to be elected as the Attorney General of the State of California.
(vi) She is the first African American Senator elected by the State of California to Washington DC.

I am not Nostradamus. I could not see tomorrow. Neither do I know tomorrow. I am also not a Prophet. I could not claim to have a hotline to God to be imbued with the clairvoyance about God’s plan for tomorrow. But I know very certainly that if it is the Will of God and that of the American people, Kamala, named after a Hindu goddess, may still act out the meaning of her name.
Kamala is the Hindu goddess of prosperity, good luck, and beauty, and she’s often depicted with the lotus flower. Devi, her middle name, is a Hindu goddess as well. It is a Sanskrit word that means “goddess,” but it is also the name of the Hindu mother goddess. Devi is considered to encompass womanhood completely, and is a nurturing force and the protector of villages. However, she does have a fierce side, and is involved in not only creating worlds, but destroying them as well.
But this Devi, this our own Kamala, is not a destroyer. She is a builder. She is a mother. She nurtures. She cares. She nourishes. She bolsters. She empathizes. She protects. She salvages. This Kamala, is for the people.
In this new task to rebuild our America from the ruins of resurgent racism, economic abracadabra, cremating of the American honour and credibility, may Kamala Harris be nurturing and motherly. May the next for years, anchored by Joe Biden, be a seismic shift from the tragi-comedy of the last four years.Amen.
