Hundreds of Muslim faithful, followers of the Tijjaniyyah Sect on Saturday gathered at Jema’a Central Mosque in Kafanchan, Kaduna State to observe the Annual Zikr and prayers in commemoration of Islamic New Year, 1441 AH.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Muslims, under the auspices of Ansaru Faidhatu Tijjaniyya with dignitaries from within and outside Jema’a Emirate gathered at the Da’ira to recite Zikrs.
They were led by top members of the sect who preached and offered prayers for peaceful coexistence and unity in the country.

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has charged people of the state to make sacrifices to ensure the state is clean and peaceful.
Wike also reiterated his commitment to the development of the state, noting that he would do anything to transform the state for better.
The Governor spoke yesterday while receiving the traditional coronation as the Eze Omekwaeli ke nbom Elelenwo community, just after commissioning the 5.6km dual carriage Rumuokwurusi-Elelenwo-Akpajo road, remained Justice Iche Ndu road, as part event for his second term 100 days in office.

Congo’s National Ebola Response Committee says confirmed Ebola deaths in the east of the sprawling African nation are nearing 2,000 and confirmed cases of the virus have exceeded 3,000.
According to VOA report, the committee released the latest numbers Friday after a discussion in Goma by the Catholic Church and the Anglican Church about efforts to help stem the spread of Ebola in communities.

Top government functionaries, including Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Ahmed Wase and Women Affairs Minister, Paulen Tallen, on Saturday visited Eleme Kingdom in Rivers to bolster unity and brotherhood among all Nigerians.

Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State says the state government is determined to implement the RUGA project, meant to resettle herdsmen and boost economic activities.
Ganduje stated this on Saturday in Kano while receiving the report on the establishment of Ruga and Milk Market in Kano State.
According to him, apart from tackling insecurity, the RUGA settlement project will change the socio-economic status of Fulani herdsmen and open new revenue outflow to government.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Saturday said it had arrested 11 suspects in Sapele, Delta State
This was disclosed in a statement released by the commission which reads: ”It was end of the road for 11 suspected internet fraudsters as they were arrested at thier hideout in an early morning raid in Sapele, Delta State on Saturday 14, 2019 by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office.
”The surprise raid in the wee hours of the day which was based on intelligence took the suspects by surprise and later led to a mild protest by their sympathizes several hours after the EFCC team had left the city.”
Bandits kill 6 persons in Kaduna
According to Wilson Uwujaren Head, Media and Publicity, the suspects arrested are Omomua Victor, Demi Johnson, Agufure Godstime, Agboroko Precious, Anthony Omonomo, Onskharoma Julius and Freeborn Efe.

Bandits have attacked a hamlet and killed six persons on Saturday in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack occurred at Fadaman Rimi hamlet a remote settlement near Udawa village in the local government area.
One person survived the attack, but the bandits were confirmed to have rustled some cows.
Spokesman of Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, who confirmed the incident, gave the names of those killed as Saminu, Wosha, Isiya,
Titus, Madami and Tanko, whose surnames were not yet ascertained.

Justice J.K Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Friday 13 September, 2019 ordered a former governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha and his family not to sell or alienate any of the properties that were subject of an interim order of the court pending the conclusion of investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
