Protesters have stormed the Abuja office of the Amnesty International (AI), an international human rights organisation, and demanded its immediate exit from Nigeria.
The protesters arrived at the office located at Maitama, at about 2pm on Friday, with various placards accusing the organisation of “attempting to destabilise Nigeria.”
They also accused Amnesty International of being sponsored by the opposition, claiming that the human rights group was taking sides with “mischief makers”.

The Federal Government has shifted the planned closure of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for repairs from Aug. 3 to September 2.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mr Adedamola Kuti, made the announcement in Lagos on Friday.
He explained that due to the busy nature of the highway, the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing had made announcements earlier on the closure, in a bid to reduce stress for commuters on the highway.

ABUJA—-Whereabouts of the Director of Finance at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Mr. Tony Okecheme, remained Unknown, as he was swept away by heavy flood on Friday.
Okecheme, was carried by the flood at Galadimawa roundabout in Abuja while he was on his way to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
He was being conveyed to the airport with his official car, a 2017 Toyota Camry, when the calamity struck.
